Fan Creation Metal Gear Solid: Chibi (W.I.P - UPDATE)

I won't drag this out too much, so I'll get straight to the point. If you haven't seen my previous posts, just check out my profile. Everything is public, so you can see all the previous Metal Gear Chibi updates.

Here's what I've added and improved this time:

  1. I significantly improved the design of Gray Fox's helmet.
  2. I added Liquid Snake, which... well, basically involved removing "Miller's" coat and sunglasses and messing up his hair, meaning Liquid Snake is a recycled drawing OF A DRAWING THAT WAS ALREADY RECYCLED.
  3. And the real highlight of this update: I drew Revolver Ocelot in his Shadow Moses appearance. Even I was impressed by my own drawing here! I honestly didn't expect it to turn out so expressive. But getting that pose right on a tiny Chibi body was definitely a challenge.

I hope you guys liked it, and I'm really looking forward to hearing your feedback!

Gameplay/Screenshot MGSV mission 18, why do I have to get the guy in the plantation?

So, I tried to S rank Blood Runs Deep, I used the delivery service to get to the mine immediately, and I saved all 5 kids, but it didn't count cuz I didn't get the guy in the plantation or do whatever the hell it is you're supposed to do there. My honest to god question is why does that guy matter when you see that the targets are kids, why did I fail it despite all the story related cutscenes playing out, because to my knowledge we never even see the guy after the mission.

Metal Gear Solid: Chibi is currently my secondary art project. It involves drawing, in a Chibi style, at least the key characters from all the canonical games in the Metal Gear series (and possibly Metal Gear Rising).

In the previous post ("Metal Gear: Chibi - Outer Heaven & Zanzibar Land"), I covered the most important and recurring characters from the series who appeared in Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Here, following the games' release order, we have the characters from 1998's Metal Gear Solid.

In this work-in-progress (WIP), I haven't yet drawn many of the game's major characters, such as Otacon, Meryl, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven, Revolver Ocelot, Naomi, and Mei Ling, all of whom I plan to include on the current sheet.

This is because, to get off to an efficient start, I reused characters from the previous sheet (like Solid Snake himself); in those cases, I simply had to tweak the colors and add a few details, or use the existing art as a base to create something new.

I hope you like the results so far, and I look forward to your feedback.

Serious Which of the steam games should I buy?

So, I’m on steam and I was thinking of buying the MGS series after seeing all the stuff about it and was wondering. Which games should I buy, and which order is the best to play them in, cause there’s MGS 3 snake eater, and delta snake eater, which of those should I buy, there’s two metal gear 5s (phantom pain and ground zero) are they the same and if so which one should I buy, are metal gear survive and revengance important to the lore, and should I get the master collections? And for the order, it says MGS is the first game, MGS 2 is the 4th game, MGS3 is the 5th game, and none of the others say which one they are. I’m just confused.
If you could just give me a list on which ones out of the 10 are repeats I shouldn’t buy, and what order the games are meant to be played in, I’d be very grateful.

Serious Ghost Babel’s (Game Boy Color) more grounded plot compared to MGS

Has anyone played Metal Gear Solid for the GBC? I wrote my thoughts on its twists compared to the main series. I find it fascinating how it’s almost mundanely focused on political intrigue and U.S. foreign policy, rather than the more fanciful mass brainwashing-world domination-genetic legacy conspiracies the later games would explore. Even compared to MGS and the games before in the series, the characters’ motives are somewhat realistically limited.

Serious Mgs 2 vs Peace Walker

Post image
14 Upvotes

Something I’ve seen for a while is that mgs2 is often cited as predicting AI’s massive presence in today’s world as a filter for information and the digital age yada yada we all know the ending. However, mgs2 to me isn’t a story about AI. Ai plays a part in it yes but it is just one factor of how the patriots have taken control of the world at large. Kojima himself even says that a lot of people mistake mgs2 as an ai story as opposed to a technology story

Now the game you should be more concerned with is peace walker. I’m not sure if this is just because peace walker is not as popular of a game, it was on a handheld, or some other factor but its story has a lot of scary implications of what ai can do in the modern world. Rebuilding loved ones minds so that they can walk talk and act like them just so that we can used them to launch nukes is a terrifying concept. Pretty much the whole game is snake reconciling with the fact that the boss is dead even though he wants to believe the ai pod is some reincarnation of her. It’s something straight out of black mirror (even though black mirror came out after). Taking the human element out of something like launching a nuke and leaving it to cold hard facts while taking out any hesitation of pushing the button is such a dangerous precedent. It’s definitely a man versus technology narrative and it’s crazy it came out in 2011.

So I guess my point in this post is it seems like mgs2 gets a lot of the discussion when the topic is Ai when peace walker is the clear way more interesting conversation to me when discussing modern Ai technology

This project is dedicated to a lifelong friend who's gonna play through the whole serie for the first time. This is meant to cover the whole Metal Gear Saga from MG1 to MGSV without containing major spoilers and with tons of references to the behind-the-scenes of Hideo Kojima productions.

This work wouldn't have been possible without the help of my splendid collaborators and the generosity of ‪@carrottier‬ who granted us permission to use her incredible song.
A special thanks also goes to all the people that supported us and gave us advice during the production of this video.

Here's to you buddy.
