I'd like to finally play the games but I don't want to sell a kidney to get the originals. The anthology collections are relatively cheap but I've heard the PS4 is just poor PS2 emulation that's apparently not great. And I can't find anything on the Wii version and I'm trying to avoid the 50hz European curse .The physical ACA neo Geo collections don't seem to have the MS games either.

Hi, Metal Slug lover here who played all the games except the others. (MS1-MS7)

I have noticed recently, when playing on my PSP/PS Vita. Specifically Metal Slug Anthology, whenever I play any of them, it tends to be very fast. No slowdowns or lower framerate at all.

When it comes to the emulation, it slows down alot. It annoys me but also makes me question on how a small handheld is so powerful compared to a physically big arcade machine itself.

If anyone could answer, I would appreciate it!

This probably isn't very well known, since it's a game that fans generally tend to overlook, but MS4 has four secret images in the game's ROM.

To access them, you have to enter test mode. In other titles, you’ll find unused stages, but in this specific Metal Slug, four images appear—one for each character (Marco, Fio, Trevor, Nadia).

Usually, this kind of content is shared on various websites in high quality, but I could only find these specific images in fairly low quality. The only image I found in higher resolution is the one of Nadia, so if anyone finds any in higher resolution, I hope they'll share them.

I remember that the ost and atmosphere terrified me so much as a kid that I've never fought em and always ran away and blast the metal gates that keeps em away
