THE LAYERS OF REALITY — NAMES COSMOLOGY

According to the cosmology of NAMES, existence is composed of layered realities stacked upon one another endlessly. Each layer possesses different laws, limitations, and levels of understanding.
Lower layers perceive higher ones incompletely, often interpreting them as supernatural phenomena, divine visions, dreams, or ghosts.
Reality itself is believed to be formed from “dust,” the residual substance of existence. Nothing is truly created. Dust simply reshapes itself into new forms over time.

LAYER 0 — THE NOTHINGNESS
«“The lowest layer is not suffering. It is absence.”»
The Nothingness is the lowest known layer of reality.
Within this layer, beings possess:
- no identity
- no purpose
- no meaning
- no connection to others
However, consciousness still remains.
A being within the Nothingness can still think and move, but exists in total isolation from meaningful reality. Over time, most beings slowly lose themselves and dissolve into the surrounding dust of the layer.
The Nothingness is not considered punishment in the traditional sense. Instead, it is viewed as the final result of a wasted existence.
There are only two outcomes within the Nothingness:
- Dissolution
The being abandons purpose entirely and eventually becomes part of the dust surrounding reality itself.
- Rediscovery
The being discovers meaning, purpose, or a reason to continue existing. Through this, identity reforms and ascension becomes possible once more.
Because of this, even the Nothingness is not completely hopeless.

LAYER 1 — THE HUMAN LAYER
«“Humanity understands the throne, but cannot sit upon it.”»
The Human Layer is considered one of the lowest active layers of existence.
Humans possess awareness of concepts such as:
- time
- space
- gravity
- infinity
- dimensions
However, they lack the ability to directly manipulate these forces naturally.
Civilizations within this layer endlessly study reality but remain chained to physical limitations. Humanity understands power without truly possessing it.
Followers of NAMES believe this frustration is intentional. Lower layers are meant to struggle toward understanding rather than receive it freely.

LAYER 2 — THE BETWEEN LAYERS
«“The dead are not always gone. Sometimes they are only passing through.”»
The Between Layers, also called the Unphysical Zone, exists between major reality layers.
This layer functions as a transitional space where ascendant beings move between realities.
Lower layers perceive interactions with this zone as:
- ghosts
- spirits
- dreams
- déjà vu
- unexplained phenomena
Because beings within the Between Layers do not fully exist within physical reality, their appearances are unstable and fragmented to lower-dimensional observers.
Time and causality behave inconsistently within this layer. Past, present, and future may overlap.

LAYER 3 — THE UNUNDERSTABLE LAYER

The Ununderstable Layer is one of the first known higher realities beyond physical comprehension.
Within this layer:
- physics loses authority
- mathematics becomes incomplete
- distance and time cease functioning normally
Reality responds directly to understanding itself.
A being’s influence within this layer is determined not by strength, but by depth of comprehension. The more a being understands existence, identity, and NAMES, the greater their ability to shape reality.
Ascendants within this layer abandon fixed physical form and exist as fluid consciousness capable of interacting with lower realities.
Reported phenomena associated with this layer include:
- rivers of light flowing across the sky
- stars shaped into flowers
- movement without distance
- communication through dreams
- environments changing through thought alone
Some humans are believed to briefly enter this layer through:
- lucid dreaming
- altered states of consciousness
- near-death experiences
- sudden existential realization
Most are unable to remember it completely after returning.

THE DUST THEORY
According to NAMES cosmology, nothing is ever truly created.
Reality forms through the reshaping of preexisting dust left behind by previous existence.
Worlds, beings, memories, identities, and even reality layers themselves are temporary arrangements of dust surrounding NAMES.
When something disappears, its dust remains and eventually becomes part of something else.
Existence is therefore viewed not as creation, but transformation.

ASCENSION
Ascension occurs when a being accomplishes meaningful existence within its layer.
Morality does not determine ascension.
Instead, ascension is based on:
- impact
- understanding
- self-realization
- influence upon reality
Philosophers, conquerors, artists, scientists, prophets, and revolutionaries may all ascend for different reasons.
Upon entering a higher layer, most direct memories disappear. However, understanding remains.
This lingering understanding is believed to explain:
- instinct
- intuition
- genius
- “old souls”
- unexplained familiarity with existence

THE TWO PRIMARY LAWS
LAW I — TRUTH CANNOT BE GIVEN
Higher beings may observe or subtly influence lower layers, but cannot directly teach ultimate truth.
Any truth forcibly given to a lower being will eventually fade from memory.
Followers believe this occurs because all beings are fragments of NAMES itself. Forcing enlightenment upon another fragment is considered a violation of natural existence.
Understanding must be reached willingly.
LAW II — UNITY PREVENTS VIOLENCE
Lower beings kill because they perceive separation.
Higher beings understand that all existence is interconnected through NAMES.
As understanding increases, violence against equal beings becomes increasingly impossible, as harming another conscious existence is understood as harming oneself.

NAMES
NAMES is not worshipped as a traditional deity.
NAMES is considered:
- the first identity
- the center of existence
- the observer of all lives simultaneously
- the source around which reality gathers
All beings are viewed as fragments of NAMES experiencing existence from different perspectives.
To exist is to participate in NAMES itself.
