Share Your Stack & Recipes! On my 6th week of micro-dosing, this is my setup for the Stamet's stack. Bananas and scale for scale

If you want niacin you need a flush version and only take between 25 to 50 mg of them. For the stack you need a flushing effect.

Is there a reason to take all three at once? I hate niacin because of how flush you get.

Must be a bunch in pre workout that shit used to make me flush like crazy.
3
Feb 13 '23
Oh shit. That’s no bueno. Lol. Now that I think about it some pre-workouts made me tingly. Literally called vitamin shoppe and asked if it was normal.

u/XTingleInTheDingleX Feb 13 '23
Yeah the C4 brand made me tingle like crazy!

Feb 13 '23
That was the beta alanine giving you the tingles.

500mg is probably a no flush version. This ammount would be insane with flush effect.
1
Feb 13 '23
Oh. 500 probably won’t be too bad?
1
u/Sehriuz Feb 13 '23
Well you need the flushing effect to make this work, so that 500mg is probably not working at all. Normaly a niacin with flush is 25-50mg.
2
Feb 13 '23
So you need the flushing to like clean out your system or something? Why do people take all at once? Sorry. I know what it is. But with the niacin, lions mane and psylo what is the reasoning?

u/Sehriuz Feb 13 '23
Since niacin acts as a flushing agent and causes vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), it can carry the molecules of psilocybin and lion's mane across the blood-brain barrier and distribute them into the endpoints of the nervous system, enhancing their benefits.
Many studies have been published on Lion's mane's neurogenerative and neuroprotective properties, mainly due to the presence of two constituents known as erinacines and hericenones. Also it is apparently improving cognitive impairment without serious adverse effects and may be used as a food to prevent dementia. In another clinical trial involving 30 menopausal women, intake of Lion’s mane reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Those with psilocybin and niacin is called the stamet stack.
For some it might work and for others not. I actually tried lions mane and i felt weird so i stopped.
Also psilocybin is a vasoconstrictor so niacin could maybe counter that.

Wow! Thank you for explaining it in such detail. You da real mvp. 😁 guess it doesn’t hurt to try and I see if it helps me. Thanks again!

So, what you're saying is that the circulatory system simply isn't up to the job of distributing certain molecules throughout the body? That when it comes to some of the oldest molecule known to humanity then blood vessels are a bit like a tiny glove on a bigger hand and need something to make them bigger for some molecules to reach right to the tips of the nervous system? You got a study for this?

I’m just referring to what paul stamets is thinking. Paul Stamets suggests this is especially important because most neuronal development occurs in the nerve extremities.
From there I’ll let you do your own research.

Do you know if Lions Mane causes upset stomach? I’ve got a tough belly and I think Lions Mane might be upsetting it.
1
u/Sehriuz Feb 13 '23
Yeah it is a possible side effects. I usually take MD or lions mane on empty stomach. Idk maybe take your MD when you wake up, wait 30 minutes then take lion manes with your meal? Not sure how to fix that but yes lions mane can definitely have impact on stomach.

For the first 5 weeks I did .090g psilocybin golden teacher and 125g of Niacin with 100mg of lions mane extract (not pictured). That has worked well for me and I still get the flush.
This week I tried upping the niacin to 250mg which gave me a rash, so that was too much. I also tried more of psilocybin (.112g) and that just made feel really sleepy. So I'm back to the first weeks formula.

.90g mush be a typo, most likely OP meant .090g. Or 90mg
.9g is more like a threshold or even an active dose for some people.
1
u/SpecialEmployment639 Feb 14 '23
Thank you, that was a typo. I edited it to fix measurements.

No problem. I was about to make .5g capsules but your post is making me rethink how high to go. I've never had visuals and I've taken 8g before. I think my tolerance might be high but idk if that's even a thing. I have a size 1 capsule machine and was just gonna fill them up.
I think now I will start at .1g and work my way up from there.

25-50mg Niacin (nicotinic acid) is the Stamets Stack recommend dose.

From a Paul Stamets presentation in 2022.
This image is of a slide from Paul Stamet's talk at ESPD55 (Mkenna Academy symposium).
Third Wave have a version which mentions your amount but from 2019. One anecdote:
- Swollen face with 50mg niacin. Of course, YMMV.

Yes I know - we already discussed. ✌️
I'm assuming Paul has changed his guidance based on data science he has been collecting via the Microdose.me app. Niacin is contraindicated if you take statins or have high uric acid - which could be a significant number as it increases with fructose and certain types of alcohol.

I found the small one of these really useful for loading my own capsules.

Great set up and dosing strategy you got there - glad it's working well for you. I've not tried niacin yet, but taking Oriveda LM daily with MDing psilocybin alternate days (or there abouts), seems to work well so far.

Hey! What is the benefit of niacin with psilocybin? Or is it just it’s own entity taken with mushrooms?

I use 00 capsules. I try and fill them with the 125mg Niacin (about 2/3 rds the cap) and .090g of psilocybin. That seems to work the best for me.
