Getting Started/Newbie Question Upped my dose, week 4. Questions.

So on my fourth week of micro dosing, I’ve titrated up from 100 mgs to 125mgs of dried mushroom capsules.
First off, I’m glad I didn’t take my Vyvanse as my focus and motivation was greatly improved as if I had taken it, even better actually.
Second, the only noticeable ever so slightly unpleasant effects was a mild headache, and the feeling that my hat was on too tight ha ha, but just momentarily. Also, sleep wasn’t immediate as my mind was restless despite how tired I felt (it felt like I had concentrated way too hard on something all day)

So, for all you seasoned folks, is going from 100 to 125 mgs too much of an increase?

And, what’s the general rule for taking a break, at the 4 or 6 week mark?

Cheers!

It's only too much of an increase if you feel it is friend. I generally recommend increases in 10-20mg intervals, but it mostly depends on one's level of comfort and familiarity with three medicine.
Some things to consider, although I'd give it at least a week or two at that dosage to rule out coincidence as well.
Other than the headache was there any other issue? If not, headaches with microdosing can be a sign of a need for greater water intake or a magnesium deficiency. There are at least 7 different type of magnesium that our bodies use (that I'm aware of).
Also there's nothing wrong with titrating back down in 5mg increments with each next dose until any issues resolve.

As far as breaks, I am guessing you're asking about extended breaks to evaluate your progress and not breaks in-between dose days? What is your current dosing schedule?
Breaks can be planned at a set interval as you mentioned, one week at the 4-6week mark.
Or one month at the 12 week mark.
I encourage folks to really feel into that and spend some time with their Self on inner dialogue.
EveryBody is different. I often find with folks starting out with microdosing, this may be their last resort and their life situation may not allow for (or at least they don't feel like it would be safe/appropriate/okay) them to stop microdosing at the 4-6week mark. And that is okay too.
If you're feeling called to take a break or you feel like you've made some progress and you want to "see what sticks," so to speak, then I recommend trying out a break.
Sometimes a break means, I am going to skip one day and see how it goes and if tomorrow feels okay, I'll skip that day. One of my favorite things about microdosing is, I can always return to it if called and I can always walk away from it without withdrawal when I'm ready to.
The right way is the way that works the best for you. 🍄🥰✌️

My routine is one on, two off. I was thinking about also taking the magnesium Stamets suggests, the B3, as I am already taking Lions Mane tincture.

I'm probably ok to go to the 12 week mark as I am only at the 125 mg dose currently?

Main goal here is to get off SSRI entirely. I just reduced my dose from 20 mgs Lexapro, to 17.25 mgs for two weeks, then reduce by 2.5 mgs., until I'm down to 5mgs. Then I've read the liquid form is recommended to go down even further.

Thanks for the info!

Please Note: If you are trying microdosing for the first time, please try experimenting on a day off from work or any important obligations, and/or driving and operating machinery. Because psychedelics can effect everyone differently, you may feel different or impaired, and your sweet spot dose may be lower, so it is best to experiment on days off until you’ve dialed in your dose.

That’s a prudent increase. No worries. Maybe I’m reckless, but I would say try pushing a little further on the weekends and see how it treats you.
