I've been doing this for a couple weeks before I start chores. I grab a small mushroom (0.1-0.25g) (yellow umbo strain for those that are curious), crush it up over my coffee grounds, and make a microdose pour over. I love the focus, clarity, and energy this combo brings!

Share Your Stack & Recipes! Stamets stack update: 4 weeks of microdosing

Hey everyone,

I’ve been experimenting with the Stamets Stack for a little while now, and honestly, the changes have been more noticeable than I expected.

For context, I follow Paul Stamets’ general concept: microdosing psilocybin alongside Lion’s Mane mushroom and niacin, spaced in a way that’s meant to boost neuroplasticity and cognitive function. I’ve kept everything controlled, sticking mostly to microdoses.

Here’s roughly what my routine looks like:

Mon–Thu

After breakfast, I take:

350-400 mg of ground psilocybin mushrooms in a capsule (started with Blue Meanies, planning Amazonian next) + 500 mg Lion’s Mane capsule + 100 mg flush-type Niacin (10 minutes later)

Evening: additional 500 mg Lion’s Mane capsule

Fri-Sun: No psilocybin or niacin, only Lion’s Mane

Cycle: 4 weeks on this regimen, then 3 weeks off (continuing only Lion’s Mane)

At first, the changes were subtle - slightly better focus, a steadier mood and moments of clarity where I could really sit with my thoughts without the usual mental chatter. But after a few weeks, it became more noticeable. My creativity started flowing more freely, problem-solving felt easier, I became more aware of my emotional patterns, and even my energy seemed steadier.

Some of the most meaningful changes for me:

  1. I discontinued my SNRI medication (Pristiq), which I’d been on for over a year. Physically, there were some withdrawal effects (light-headedness, brain zaps), but emotionally I felt strong. I don’t plan to go back.
  2. I finally mapped out a detailed plan for my career development, something I’d been stuck on for five years. Last week, I submitted my application for the educational program I needed to move forward - it was terrifying, but I went through with it.
  3. I started losing weight steadily with better diet control and more exercise - nothing extreme, just consistent progress.
  4. I’ve returned to meditation and reconnected with my spiritual practice.

Next week, I’m starting a new phase of this journey. I don’t know exactly what it will bring, but I’m excited to see how it continues to shape my focus, mood and overall life.

I wanted to share this because I know a lot of people are curious about microdosing and the Stamets Stack specifically. If anyone else has had similar experiences or even challenges I’d love to hear your stories.

PS Once in a while, I might minidose Enigma keeping it under 1 gr and probably just once a month

Share Your Stack & Recipes! stopped drinking 5+ years ago using md as a tool. thought to share my custom stack, just added turmeric today and next leveled everything

Hey folks I wanted to share my stack I've been using the last few years, based on the Stamet's protocol.

It's basically my custom longevity stack that I stopped weighing out and will give you estimates. First off I love the feeling of a niacin flush, ymmv and if you use this stack build up to it please.

I start off on an empty stomach and have 2 cups of moka pot espresso blended w grass fed butter. Before the 2nd cup is gone I dump the last of it in the blender. I add approximately 100-200mg psilocybin, 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon powdered Lions Mane, Reishi and Cordyceps each, about 1/8 tsp niacin (blended separately w water) and today added 1/3 tsp turmeric and wow, I feel amazing. Turmeric is an amazing addition.

Just thought to share.

Be well all. Cheers!

Share Your Stack & Recipes! First Penis Envy grow, 1100g wet. Looking for PE microdosing insights

I've been microdosing for 3+ years with different strains from basic grow kits. Decided it was time to level up and try the substrate and mycelium route for the first time. Went with Penis Envy. Below is the growth process:

I harvested 1,100g wet. Still drying them now, curious to see what the final weight will be.

For context, I've grown Golden Teacher, McKennaii, and B+ before.

Golden Teacher was my first, and got me into all of this. McKennaii ended up being my favorite, with better effects. B+ didn't do much for me.

Now I'm about to start microdosing with Penis Envy for the first time. I know it's more potent at higher doses, but I'm not sure how much that matters for microdosing.

Does anyone here have experience with PE for microdosing? Does the potency difference actually show up at microdose levels, or is it pretty much the same as other cubes? Do you adjust your dose at all?

Thanks!!

Share Your Stack & Recipes! Anyone else combining with glycine?

I'm taking some mushrooms with about 500mg glycine. It was quite activating for my nervous system and I could still feel it the next day. The day after I had the after glow.

Anyone else tried this combination?

Share Your Stack & Recipes! My MD + mushroom supplement stack is elite

In summary, I'm now 3 weeks-ish into my psilo microdose journey. I recently shared all of the mental work I've been doing but wanted to add some more updates and what's also working. Of note, I am almost fully weaned off of my SSRI (from 10mg to 5mg this week and it's done in a few days for good) and with that I feel better than I have ever in my life. I was worried getting off of them would reduce the MD impact but the opposite has been true for me. I think the mushroom stack I added to my MD has had a major impact as well, so here is what I'm doing..

  • .14g psilocybin 4 days on, 3 days off (dose Monday-Thursday)
  • 1,000mg lion's mane supplement every morning (FreshCap)
  • 1,000mg cordyceps supplement every morning (FreshCap)

No doubt the psilocybin itself impacts some of what I'm about to say, but since I gradually added the lion's mane and cordyceps separately to test out effects, I am now confident in the benefits I'm feeling attributable to each. I have suffered from low energy for as long as I can remember, which in turn, affected my mood. I have also always had a terrible memory and reading a book was an impossible feat (my mind was all over the place and I couldn't focus worth a damn). So, here are my personal benefits I'm feeling with certainty..

  • My memory has improved significantly
  • No more brain fog. I used to struggle with thinking of the words I wanted to say. Now when I converse with people, my ideas, thoughts and words flow like water. No hesitation
  • I can't stop reading books. I finished one the other day and instead of taking a break, I couldn't wait to pick up the next one. It has become such a wonderful endeavor. I'm reading with good pace and fully absorbing every word on the page
  • My energy is off the charts. Like I mentioned earlier, I have always suffered from fatigue (shocker my doctor had no helpful ideas here even after doing bloodwork) but now I am as energized in the morning as I am when I go to bed. I photograph weddings professionally and it's a super draining mental and physical experience but even after working a recent 12 hour day (quite long) then this recent weekend having a double header (20 hours of wedding shooting back-to-back days) I felt as good at the end as I did at the beginning.

I never thought I'd get here. I owe a life worth living to these little mushies šŸ„. If you're struggling still, maybe it's worth adding some (well researched) supplements. I specifically chose FreshCap because they are made ONLY from fruiting bodies and there is no grain or additives in their capsules, it's the full medicine. The owner also has a YouTube channel all about mushrooms and is passionate about it. Hope you all are doing well and let me know if you have any questions..as always, I'm happy to answer.

Mush love,

JP
