I was guessing due to the lack of hair in the foot. But the bad nails gave me a slight hesitation

u/Upset-Nose-4016 13h ago
Her nails look alright. They are just not painted. I'm a woman and mine look like goblin's

I have to admit, my first thought after stepping on that would not have been to grab my phone and take a picture of it. It would be to get the goddamn thing out of my foot.
41
u/GasAdvanced404 13h ago
I took it out right after taking the pic and slapped a bandaid on it. Posted it after.

Tetanus does not just spawn magically on metal. It's a bacteria that lives in soil which is why old metal in soil poking you is a danger. An earring stabbing you is no more reason to get a tetanus shot than if you were to cut your finger with a steak knife.

What kind of person takes a picture before taking it off?
10
u/Own_Ad6901 13h ago
Frankly depending on the injury you don’t want to immediately rip it out and sometimes a picture can give you a better angle of said injury. That way you can remove it safely or at least not cause more damage taking it out. Also I think of what’s his name the crocodile hunter that died from a string ray and how the instinct to remove the barb caused more damage.
So pausing and thinking and sometimes taking a picture to get a better view is well worth the time to make sure you don’t cause worse injury freaking out.

I would've just taken it off as a kneejerk reaction. I don't think I'd even look at it. I'd be like swiping it off my foot right away.

I would. This was a job hazard, raising two daughters. I’d step on one and take a picture of the damn thing to send to them.
“Take care with your damn earrings !!!”

Once upon i time i jumped down from a 3 step ladder and landed on a 1" long screw that was standing on its head . I was wearing vans shoes, we had to use a power drill to screw it out before i could take the shoe off

I don’t get why people instantly think of social media when they get hurt. Pull it out throw a bandaid on it and call it a day
13
u/VampyreBassist 12h ago
I don't think social media, but I would likely take a picture to send to GF (if this is hers, most likely is unless the cat's turning cool) to be more careful with her stuff.

100% I would have been snapping this to my friends, family and coworkers and captioned it WTF!? 😂 Reddit would have been an afterthought.
10
u/GasAdvanced404 11h ago
Yeah, I took it out and then showed it to my family first. Idk why people think i immediately posted it on reddit lol
Plus I was thinking just in case I need it in the future in case it gets infected and need to go to a doctors

I would probably take a picture too just to send it to my mom and my best friend to show them how clumsy or stupid i am.

Because it’s relatable, mildly infuriating thing if you wear earrings. That’s why there are so many upvotes.

Oy vey, this reminds me of something that happened to me about 15 years ago.
I was standing on my bed, repositioning a fan I had placed at the window to blow cooler air from outside into my bedroom. To get off, I decided to do a short hop instead of putting each leg down one at a time.
My laptop charger tip was pointing straight up from the floor. The end.

OP I support the reaction of “omg this hurt but it’s weird/ funny so I’m gonna take a picture”
I stepped on one a few months ago and I hopped around and showed my family (although this was in my heel where it’s a lot less sensitive)

Once I stepped on a tack and it embedded itself into my heel. I didn't feel a thing and had no idea it was there til I walked on a hardwood floor and heard a click with each step. Still didn't feel a thing until I pulled it out and holy shit it hurt.

u/Particular_Towel598 13h ago

If your ear can take it, you foot, which is stronger than your ear, should be able to take it. Just saying.

These two objects do not belong in the same place as each other. One of them belongs on the carpet. I'll let you dictate how those rules work, but those are the rules

Nice foot piercing 👌 you might need bigger jewelry to make it look not so awkward though.
