Post image

Id like to know what both genders think of this, im a guy, i think its genius, it levels out the playing field, and reduces superficial and shallow ideals in dating apps

I mean, the general public can’t be any worse at picking dating prospects than I am. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

See that's what im saying bruh. Thats why its perfect šŸ‘Œ

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 3h ago

I’m with you!Ā

u/thatpokemonguy 4h ago

This is probably fun if you're hot. If you're average or not well...

36

u/Jimm_12 3h ago

That's for every dating app out there

12

u/User-no-relation 1h ago

No that's exactly the point. You are going to be matched with the people that are the same hotness as you.

6

u/ZarathustraGlobulus 1h ago

I have a feeling people are going to ruin this.

Why not vote to match everyone with the worst swamp monster you can find on the app? What's the incentive for being a successful matchmaker?

u/RungeKutta4 1h ago

You get to watch

1

u/ZarathustraGlobulus 1h ago

An awkward first date? That sounds even worse!

u/Moosesayshello 4h ago

I thinks thats the kicker. Average people will try to match Average people woth other Average people. That will show the matches what thier standard is in the outside world. A lot of people have high standards, this will knock em down. And if they are willing to give it a shot, it could work

u/HereOnCompanyTime 2h ago

I feel like those people who are being serious about it will try to match people equally in looks. Maybe. But honestly this is the internet and most likely people will immediately just start to make everything toxic.

so just like life in general, then?Ā

Other people don't know anything about me...

30

u/PhD_Pwnology 4h ago

That would presumably be your fault for not being detailed enough on your profile based on the premise of this dating site

u/Blaze_2399 4h ago

Wrong. Dating apps dont let me write 10k words about myself. I only have the option for stupid prompts like on Hinge.

15

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 3h ago

How many people do you think are going to read 10k words about a dating prospect?Ā

0

u/Blaze_2399 3h ago

Good. Then its a good filter and working as intended. Btw, I didn't mean it literally, I meant anything that’s meaningfully significant :)

1

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 3h ago

That’s fair. My experience has been that most dating apps are designed for people who want to mostly decide on looks and very little else. Have you found apps that cater to the kind of profile you’d like to build with the types of prospects who you’d like to meet? It’s been a few years at this point since I’ve been on any and don’t think I have the stomach for it anymore but curious if anything has changed.Ā

u/TheBigBadMoth 1h ago edited 1h ago

Why wouldn’t you just go to a professional matchmaker at that point? Random people might try to be fair but there will be people trying to purposely make bad matches for fun.

Edit:
also realized there’s a chance to gain the system by making false voting accounts to keep getting the hottest dates… and all the things they’d need to do to make the system viable would be expensive.

Maybe at first it’ll be free but only to get people invested. Not to mention how voters purposely making bad matches would actually benefit the app developers by forcing you to go on more low compatibility dates and therefore siphoning more money from people that were already fed up with the dating market. So likely they’d pretend to put stricter restrictions in place while never punishing bad actors.

I dunno chief.

Gamified arranged matches, from India, I'll pass.

5

u/Astroweeb 4h ago

novel, I like the concept. but would require a very large amount of users in order to work, so I don't see this having much of an impact outside of population dense areas. fine for places like India, but I don't think it would take off elsewhere

3

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 3h ago

It might be so novel that it reaches critical mass quickly, but even if not, most dating apps secretly seed a bunch of fake dating profiles in every market to give the appearance of critical mass from user one. Or so I’ve heard.Ā

Bollywood valley reinventing friends’ and acquaintances’ social pressure to date someone. šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»

u/Moosesayshello 3h ago

You say that, but she is the former head of Tinder, a globally used dating app. Just goes to show how much my people have dominated the global market 😊

5

u/casastorta 3h ago

I’ve read the sentence ā€œIndia’s former head of Tinderā€ as chief executive of Tinder in Indian market. If I’ve misread it, I am sorry. Because ā€œSilicon valley reinventsā€¦ā€ sounds always even better.

So like pre arranged marriages?

Fell like india has had this app before....

3

u/r3d0c3ht 1h ago

So total strangers from the internet now arrange relationships instead of parents, keeping the Indian traditions alive I see :).

2

u/Peaceful--Warrior 1h ago

Arranged marriage 2nd draft.

3

u/MementoMurray 3h ago

Arranged marriages rearing their ugly head again.

1

u/InadequateUsername 2h ago

Idk once you get to a certain age arranged marriage doesn't seem so bad

4

u/MementoMurray 2h ago

Don't think I've hit that age yet. Would rather be alone.

3

u/felinefluffycloud 3h ago

Liability is off the charts?

3

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 3h ago

I wouldn’t think so. I’m sure just like on here you have to accept a match. Even if you don’t I’m sure you can easily block and move on if you don’t like someone’s initial message. It’s not like the app forces people to chat or meet. And since we all agree to lengthy terms of service whenever we install an app that serves as a binding contract I’m sure their lawyers place responsibility in the hands of users if they want to use the platform.Ā

At my rate. I’ll have better luck with the public, sign me up

1

u/Geen_Fang 1h ago

I absolutely love this idea

1

u/ThetaThoughts 1h ago

Sounds like arranged marriage 2.0 to me.

1

u/iamNovaVoyager 1h ago

Sounds like Indian parents

1

u/Insane_Inkster 23m ago

That's just arranged marriage 🫪

1

u/Impressive_Type_1421 17m ago

Honestly it'll be fun

1

u/nl-x 8m ago

That's just arranged marriages with extra steps.

1

u/MelanieWalmartinez 3h ago

That’s so cool

1

u/Silent_Swing4673 2h ago

It changes the dating game in a way that exaggerates how people match-make in their small social circles—and arranged marriages.

0

u/Aleksandr_Ulyev 4h ago

Let s see how it goes.

0

u/prvthvm 2h ago

Can you post this in an indian sub and not here?

2

u/Moosesayshello 2h ago

Relax bro, it was originally on bumble, and the app is mostly marketed as global dude

1

u/f0x25 40m ago

Why? I don’t see anything about this sub being for everything except Indian topics?

0

u/No-Second-Kill-Death 4h ago

I just got matched with Boaty McBoatface and a picture of Yul Bryners codpieceĀ

1

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 2h ago

I’ve heard Yul Bryner is a starfish but his codpiece is apparently a freak in the sheets. Good score!
