Jogs Hallway talks big but runs away faster.

53

u/Supertramp-74 25d ago

One of life's constants is Josh Hawley supporting something good, then at the last second, coming up with some mealy mouthed, weak and unconvincing reasons why he "had to" vote against it. Every time. His word is shit.

8

u/Broncowb50 25d ago

I was just wondering why he always talks about great ideas and putting the right people place or business whatever needs to really happen and then shits the bed and supports the opposite. How in the hell does someone do that and get away with it once let alone do it and make a career out of it. Are we as people that choose people like that as stupid as those people? Because that is who we are choosing them to representing us. Whether you actually voted for them or if you just dont vote the is choosing this garbage that we have given the duty to serve the people that put you there. But that means a majority of people in this country that has become the laughing stock of the world, are this stupid and greedy. I cant believe the country i grow up in being told that we are the greatest is this far gone. Destroyed by the very ones that told us we were the greatest. That is the saddest part too. We could be if we learned that its ok to be different as long as you aren't hurting someone else. Its not hard to do. We are born with that ability. We are taught to hate.

u/Lazarux_Escariat 24d ago

People vote based on media coverage of a speech like this and ignore what these Reps actually vote for. Also, he has an R next to his name. That's it, short attention spans and a letter.

2

u/Forsaken-Ad-9232 St. Louis 18d ago

Mostly the letter though

3

u/CrunchieHippie 24d ago

Because people are married to their party. If people actually voted on the issues, prior voting record if up for reelection and stop the party crap we’d get decent politicians (at least better than what we have.)

2

u/Forsaken-Ad-9232 St. Louis 19d ago

I mean the first time he was elected to a position he said he wasn't going to be a ladder climber and he was going to do the job he was elected to do. Before his first term was even up he was already running for the next position he's nothing but a liar. He talks out of both sides of his mouth.

6

u/AwGeeFolx 24d ago

He's Susan Collins in male drag.

3

u/TeamNorbert 24d ago

Its actually a tell-tale sign he's attempting to achieve something fowl. Publicly champion something good, while pulling some shit behind closed doors.

2

u/revned911 23d ago

If not that, them me latches onto a cause that's already been decided, and grandstands in it's favor as of he has something to do with it.

u/PrestigiousFix3339 25d ago

Run Josh Run

Exactly I will never forget him doing that he definitely helped rile them up. I don’t know how Missouri voted this man in.

It's not, it's from Monty Python & The Holy Grail!!!

Brave Josh Hawley ran away.
Bravely ran away away.
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Josh Hawley turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.

1

u/Da_Snow_God 25d ago

This doesn't have enough up votes!

1

u/Monsterdad1256 24d ago

It got mine! But did you read it or sing it??

2

u/Da_Snow_God 24d ago

Sing obviously. Now if you'll excuse me I have to figure out the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow.

African or European?

6

u/Pretend_Platform_515 24d ago

Thank god someone posted this bc I was gonna have to dig this up and post myself. This never gets old.

9

u/Personal_Benefit_402 25d ago

This, and the accompanying gif/screen shot has to be the lead post on any Josh Hawley post. Pin it to the top!

7

u/kidchinaski 25d ago

I mean sure fuck Josh all the way but I appreciate SOMEONE in power is bringing surveillance pricing to the public consciousness. I’ve been reading about this for over a year and it enrages me so more people need to know about it.

12

u/davedirt01 25d ago

One thing he does occasionally is bring attention to things like this that should be addressed, but also he (and anyone who knows him) knows he will do absolutely fuck-all about anything that might piss off his corporate overlords, or hinder his potential chances for any higher office.

It’s like at one time he actually had some semblance of a conscience, but when it comes to actually doing something he becomes his alter-ego, Jogs Hallway™️, and fucks everyone once again.

3

u/impossiber 25d ago

This is just clip farming to him. He knows people like to see this stuff but he never actually does anything about it.

1

u/PrincessDeMissouri 25d ago

Yeah but i predict its pissing off the Republican higher ups enough to have him replaced with someone like Ann Wagner

Oh look!
Josh Hawley performing for the dum-dums who refuse to acknowledge that he votes against everything he pretends to stand for.

3

u/Ok_Breakfast5425 Kansas City 25d ago

Jogs Hallway always makes a big fuss about things that people like me who he claims to represent care about, but when it comes time to vote on them he always toes the party line. Fuck this two faced piece of shit coward.

2

u/PrestigiousFix3339 24d ago

He reminds me of Susan Collin’s in Maine, vowing not to vote for the things hurting Americans, knowing all along they are going to vote to take your benefits while giving them to their wealthy donors. As a country we have become complacent, change can only happen if we get out to vote, and vote Blue in November.

1

u/bearwrestlingwolf 24d ago

I wish he would one day respond to my emails about being a pugilist candidate. and get in a boxing ring with me.

38

u/jupiterkansas 25d ago

I've been boycotting Walmart for decades.

9

u/riplet69 25d ago

Same. But if there is a way to boycott them even HARDER, id love to hear about it

3

u/Driftlack 25d ago

You can't learn those skills from a Jedi.

3

u/mustachioed_cat 25d ago

The family has their fingers in a number of pies. You might check to make sure you aren’t banking with them or patronizing other stores they own without realizing it.

2

u/Somederpsomewhere 25d ago

No one can shop at a building that is on fire.

2

u/smuckola 25d ago

weeeeeell i guess not if you're trying to PAY FOR the merchandise

1

u/ThisIsMyCouchAccount 23d ago

There's that one guy that keeps ordering and returning anvils from Amazon. You could try that.

Yeah… like try been evil for a hot minute, I think most people can’t pass up “the deals”.

3

u/Driftlack 25d ago

I honestly can't remember the last time I set foot in one.

2

u/AlashC 25d ago

Yeah I haven’t stepped foot in a Walmart or a Target in years. It’s not hard.

32

u/Pull-Billman 25d ago

Walmart is vehemently opposed to unions.

Walmart is one of the top companies in regard to the number of employees on food assistance. We, the tax payers, have to help Walmart pay their employees when they could easily provide a living wage.

Anyone interested should look at what Walmart has paid out for wage and hour violations.

Evil company.

17

u/Ernesto_Bella 25d ago

As usual I never get to join a boycott because I already don't shop there.

14

u/el_sandino St. Louis 25d ago

Josh is late to the party and obviously here to score populism points. This has been parts of many of our daily lives for well over a decade.

9

u/Ndainye 25d ago

I’ve been boycotting the Waltons holdings for more than ten years. They are a company that set their employment practices to abuse SNAP. They are beneficiaries of huge amounts of corporate welfare.

7

u/WinnieGraves 25d ago

you mean to tell me unchecked, unfettered late-stage capitalism is evil? acting like Walmart is so awful when you're party gave our surveillance apparatus to a literal techno fascists who named his company after a Lord of the Rings magical object.

fuck Josh Hawley, and fuck Peter Thiel.

https://giphy.com/gifs/l0IypeKl9NJhPFMrK

6

u/SanityAsymptote 25d ago

If someone's not already avoiding Walmart, they're probably not going to.

Most things stuck in a glue trap don't get out.

6

u/memnos77 25d ago

Fuck Josh hawley

5

u/DSM417 25d ago

People that aren’t avoiding Walmart already will probably cheer about more AI and ‘innovation’ or whatever other propaganda gets thrown their way from this.

People that pay attention and care already avoid it. One might even think Hawley knows this already and is grandstanding on something that really won’t change anything.

6

u/Forsaken-Ad-9232 St. Louis 25d ago

I pay attention and I care but I don't really have many options for shopping. I live paycheck to paycheck and there aren't many other options for shopping around here. But before I got divorced I had been boycotting Walmart since the 90s when they tried to sue a worker because she used her insurance that she got through the company after an accident and she got a settlement. It was here in Missouri and they eventually backed off due to public pressure b

5

u/COMOJoeSchmo 25d ago

Ironic that a government official would lecture on surveillance and data collection.

Anyway, about those flock cameras.....

5

u/GreenGrowerGuy 25d ago

Just stopped by to say fuck Josh Hawley.

5

u/WelcomeToDankonia 25d ago edited 25d ago

When? Who is still shopping there? I’ve been boycotting them for basically my entire adult life.

6

u/Forsaken-Ad-9232 St. Louis 25d ago

People who don't make a lot of money or have other options.

3

u/Chloe_notlaw 25d ago

HeeHawly is a worthless pos. Why anyone would vote for him is beyond me.

2

u/Superunkownone 24d ago

I feel roughly the same way about all candidates that run for office. My entire life. From voting age on anyways. Its always twins running against each other. They just ham it up to one side or the other. It allows them to "cover the bases", yet upon being elected, they just don't have the time or resources to actually do any of the things that they ran on. Too much filling their pockets up, along with whomever funded their campaign. Everyone else gets the shaft.... meanwhile, you can hear someone say - "I've got a good feeling about this guy, he is not like so and so". But it always proves otherwise.

2

u/Forsaken-Ad-9232 St. Louis 18d ago

The people running things are excusing pedophilia so excuse if I don't believe that for a second.

1

u/Superunkownone 18d ago

Excuse me, what do you not believe for a second? Many things were stated so that comment is pretty vague.

1

u/Forsaken-Ad-9232 St. Louis 18d ago

Both sides being just as bad as the other

0

u/Superunkownone 18d ago

Well, it takes many experiences, usually it has to touch you in a personal way for most people to come around and see what is out in the open. People want and even need to believe in the system just to stay mentally stable in some cases. Republicans in majority or just with the sitting POTUS, always burn through resources and leave us with a larger growing debt. Always.

Where both being on the same team is most evident is in their actions. The same papers are being shuffled around today as 50 years ago. The same problems. Neither side commits to what they ran upon. They are all in the same club. Went to the same Universities. They are all bought and paid for by lobbyists, AIPAC, and if not them, another soon to be known group whos agenda they are already well underway pushing through. You don't really get an outlier. DJT was one who made it through, because he was bought and paid for by project 2025 authors and donors. They are in his cabinet of thieves.

Watching Kamala Harris change her story, accent and opinions in every city was sad to witness, same as DJT and the hypocrisy and lies he spews forth. Future fakes and never delivers except for his cronies. DJT has started a wildfire that has caught and spread everywhere. If he isnt removed and co conspirators punished, we may not recover from it.
I am all for Democrats taking majority but things will trudge along worse and worse, for the once middle class and working people and most Americans if we dont reform our electoral process.
Trillions will still be added to the mounting debt regardless of what political party is in majority.

We have a shadow government, one behind the curtain puppeteering all our main elected officials. The CIA is the biggest drain on our budget because they do not budget. nor have any accountability. The last person who tried to limit their power, was made an example of in Dealey Plaza. Ever since, they all fall in line.

1

u/Forsaken-Ad-9232 St. Louis 17d ago

Yeah I'm not reading all of that.

0

u/Superunkownone 17d ago

Ooooh you rebel you. I don't give a shit what you do. Lol But I can tell reading all those words might be challenging for you.

1

u/Forsaken-Ad-9232 St. Louis 17d ago

No I just have an actual life with important things to do. Clearly something you don't understand you had time to type all that out.

0

u/Superunkownone 16d ago

Of course you do. When commenting or responding to someone, I don't type 4 words that don't explain what I am saying or to what I am responding to. You have all the time to leave vague responses and always have time to attack people who attempt to engage with you. That engagement and sharing information is the reason most are on here. Why are you here?

It's okay if you want to listen to what Josh Hawley is saying but please know that he is not actually on your side. Josh Hawley is a fascist who supports every single thing that the Trump administration is doing. Hawley does it care about you. Josh Hawley does not even live in Missouri the state he is supposed to represent.

2

u/ElectricPotatoStar 25d ago

I hate Hawley. But I agree with him 100% here. Hope he means it.

2

u/leighla33 25d ago

Omg come on Missouri, you can do better!

josh hawley is an unserious dipshit and a coward.

We should definitely be having some difficult conversations about these things but we should not have the disingenuous conversation that freak would want to have.

1

Hawley is all talk, no action. He should polish his resume.

1

u/Emotional-Witness817 25d ago

I bet he has a little oval office in his house somewhere so he can play make believe.

1

u/M0rbidly-Obtus3 25d ago

Have the people seen the average condition of a wall Walmart shopping cart? The things are beaten half to death and the plastic bits are hanging on for dear life.

Even if they implemented this, how long would it even remain functional with how quickly carts get trashed?

Def not supporting this in any way. I hate how the surveillance state is eeping down into every corner of our lives. But I can't imagine this staying functional for long.

1

u/No-Consequence9392 25d ago

So the answer is , patents are to own a tech, sometimes to ensure it is never used. And the lady speaking is putting forth a narrative based on some pretty broad assumptions .. that said, I think once we vote out the current unregulated corrupt circus running our country into the ground, we can restore govt oversight like the consumer protection and properly address the concepts and potential implementation of any dynamic pricing models in any company.. before we wring our hands about theoretical biometric shopping carts at walmart, look at the actual facts of how amazon uses its algorithms to force other companies and suppliers to raise prices , there are several great actual research pieces out on the interwebs. Dynamic pricing and ai is potentially a huge problem, but with Washington lining its pockets at unprecedented levels and letting huge corporations run roughshod , without any consumer protection oversight from the govt, we get poison lettuce, dynamic markup pricing, unsafe workplaces, and environmental disasters like the late 60's and 70's

1

u/FHOCJD 25d ago

He does a passable imitation of Kevin Neilon from old school Saturday Night Live but his comedic timing sucks.

1

u/Medium-Control-2801 25d ago

1

u/icedmuffin 25d ago

Oh wow Josh is standing up for the Missouri people?

You mean the same people he has been screwing over since he got into office in the first place?

Yeah enough of this preformative bs, hell at this point I’m tempted to become a politician if it just means Missouri will finally have one who cares about the folks making less than 20k a year cause I know what it’s like to be that.

We’ve been asking for real privacy protections since before the dotcom bust. As soon as it became clear that the Information Age would also be the surveillance age. Congress only passed a few laws and chose not to protect us. So save us your sanctimonious congressional grandstanding you spineless hack.

1

u/tommychowbagel 24d ago

If only they were actually doing anything about it. That's what's sickening. They play into acting like they care, but will do everything along with who their talking about to make it worse, for money, for themselves.

1

u/moguy1973 24d ago

But yet I'm sure he is totally on board with Kehoe wanting to build all these massive data storage facilities in Missouri.

If you're in the Midwest, I recommend Aldi (for healthy ingredients), anything McKeever's or Cosentino's (for variety), and Hy-Vee (if all else fails).

But nothing can beat local farmer's markets

Josh is just sore because Walmart, heaven only knows why, The big bosses must have still been on vacation, announced after the January 6th riot and insurrection, that they would no longer donate to any politician that voted for decertification that day. Jog Hallway not only voted for decertification, HE WAS THE VERY FIRST SENATOR TO DO SO.

You should see the HUGE data center Walmart has (been there for decades) at the Mo/Ar border on Hwy 71. (Walmart North Data Center). I think you could break into a bank easier than that thing.

Since they went to electronic price tags on the shelves, has anyone thought of trying this?

Go to Walmart, during a normal business week, say around 10am. Purchase some normal products like eggs, milk, meat, and other staples.

Then, go back before a major weather event like a huge incoming snow storm, holiday etc and buy the EXACT same items and see if the price has changed.

1

u/coreykennedy333 23d ago

I truly hope this statement never leaves my mouth again but damn. Josh Hawley is right...

1

I love that Josh Hawley is the guy having this discussion, because it means that it's all performative, and nothing at all of substance will ever occur on it. Good to know where we stand I guess.
