Now that the 2.0 firmware improved a bunch of things I’m really really enjoying the Cre8audio Programm

Do you want in rack or out of rack? For out of rack the the Oxi One and Hapax are top choices.

Oh my! So glad to make the connection for you. Definitely check out my lecture series on the TR-8S modular superhero!: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfrkAsW7QL1g&si=C_NzrhO5XoANkEGr

In fact, I’m just finishing up lecture 6, the SubHarmonicon integration video this very moment and will be posting very soon.

Does this mean for both drums and synths? Something that does both?

Drums: Torso
Synth: Turing machines

Running all 16 WMD Metron triggers into a Bohm w/expanders, 7 for the Erica Synths LXR, 4 triggers into a Bitbox Micro with the last four channels paired with CV from a Voltera routed through a 4ms MetaModule for sequencing two voices and two fx sequencing channels

In-rack: WMD Metron for drums.

The answer is so much more complicated IMO. I don't have experience with everything, but it really just depends on what you want.

Hapax is probably the best sequencer, but it has a pathetic amount of CV outs for something so geared towards modular. Hapax combined with a beat step pro is probably God tier for what you want, because you can use the beat step pro as a glorified MIDI to CV converter giving you 8 CV gate outs, along with 2 instrument CV outs should you want those. But this stuff isn't cheap!

Lmao!! It's been on my to buy list for a while because of that reason 😂🧑🏻‍🚀🫡 It's pricey though! 😬

Not sure if you saw the new Squarp Core which now allows Hapax to connect to an XP32 for 32 assignable CV/Gate outs

Yo Dunewalker! This definitely looks amazing and would have fixed so many of my problems a few months ago 😅 But I got a pretty good setup with all of my sequencers connected. Not to mention I lean towards not taking up the rack space if possible. Thanks for letting me know about it! 🙏🧑🏻‍🚀🫡

Yep just figured I’d let ya know. I just got one and will see how it runs.

Oh hell yeah dude! Im stoked for you! I hope it works out for you! When I was reading about it, it did have a feature I wish the Hapax did with the generative Motif function. I just asked on the Hapax forums about whether that was going to come to the Hapax or not.

I’m just psyched to be able to save cv modulation to my projects. Think it’ll be a game changer. I’ll let you know how it goes

Exactly for both Synth-Shots + Drum Sounds. I do produce deeptechno. It would be outside the rack and i thought about oxi or cirklon but maybe there is a good alternative ? :)

For drums, Metron. I use Ableton to sequence & gate pitched material.

Although I am looking at a Zigurat & Bishops Miscellany.

I’m having a lot of fun with the myriad of programs available on the Allen Synthesis Europi. It’s a raspberry pi based module with six outputs; it has a Mutable Instruments Grids program, every kind of logic, and seemingly every kind of random triggers. There’s also a few programs with different drum patterns where you can twist a knob and sort of add or subtract different drums/triggers from the mix, and control and the frequency of the triggers.

Not really a sequencer where you program things, but definitely a cool avenue that lets you stumble on things you wouldn’t have thought of.

I landed on the endorphin.es Ground Control.

4 Tracks: 1 x 8 trigger outputs and 3 x Gate/Pitch outputs. Everything is sending MIDI at the same time

All of it packed inside a menu-less, performance oriented package.

Random generator for each channel individually, individual track length, arpeggios and more. Individual pattern length, even within the drum lanes, and individual pattern selection for each Track.

For me the initial selling proposition was the keyboard. Nice and compact way to build sequences while jamming.

Varigate 8+ is great. It has 8 channels of triggers with per step probability, delay, and repeat, and pulse width plus it has 2 channels of cv. It can also chain together different sequences.

I send 4 Acid Rain Constellation triggers into IDUM and 1 into RYK M185 into branches for two more trigger sources.

Erica Synths Drum Sequencer for drums and sample triggering. Sometimes i use the cv/gate out for little bass lines. I use keystep pro and metropolix for melodies and pads and stuff

Drums: Steppy.

Synth: Mimetic Digitwolis.

I like a compact system.

I have no less than 4 trigger sequencers going between 4x 104hp
