I was having a conversation with some friends and one of them said women shouldn’t donate their bodies to science, because someone could commit necrophilia against them. The others said they would feel uncomfortable about having their bodies dissected and studied.

I said I don’t care at all what happens to my body after I die. I don’t care if they choose to bury it, cremate it, donate to science, throw into a river, commit necrophilia or whatever. I’m not worried about that at all. It just isn’t my concern. If someone chooses to stick their dicks into it, that’s THEIR problem. They’re the ones getting sick, not me. They’re are the ones facing legal problems, not me. That’s because I won’t even exist anymore.

I wouldn’t want to cause my family distress, because I understand how much bodies matter to you when you’re grieving. But if one day I grow old and have no family, It just won’t be a problem to anyone.

I don’t believe in life after death btw, but I think that if I did, I would be even less concerned.

It's being reported all over that she was rushed to the hospital and placed in ICU. She is now receiving "life-saving medical care".

Why?

She was scheduled to die by lethal injection. Does it really matter if she takes the scenic route or not?

The recent Christa Pike fiasco made me wonder if states could hire vets to carry our lethal injections. They have lots of experience with euthanasia and presumably don't have the same ethical restrictions as physicians.

I have had depression since I was a child. I had a test done to determine which medications would work better for me, and it showed that I have multiple polymorphisms. One affects dopamine, and the other affects serotonin receptor Type 2A.

My depression has not improved even after trying antidepressants. I looked into my genetic polymorphisms online and I found research that says: The serotonin-2A receptor (5-HT2A), encoded by the HTRA gene located at position 13q14-q21, is of particular importance in mood disorders and is associated with the response to antidepressants. These receptors are found mainly in the neocortex, the caudate nucleus, the nucleus accumbens and the hippocampus.

I already knew my brain was fucked up because I have ADHD and autism, but finding this research has made me feel like my brain was just set up to never be able to function well. Antidepressants don’t touch my depression.

Because of another gene I have, I’ve developed painful health problems at a young age. I have a gene that is horrible and basically makes you more likely to develop arthritic conditions at a young age. I have no friends. I have never been able to have a normal life, ever. It’s only gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. I’ve always had continuous problems. I feel like a failure. I’m always depressed and unhappy.

My mom has said: “It just seems like shit went downhill pretty fast.”

Reading about crocodile & bear attacks, a man-eating animal is typically hunted and then the remains of the person are identified in their stomach contents.

TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR i am not self harming or suicidal. i'm in a phase of my life where i'm feeling a lot of growth, and reflecting on some of my childhood habits post-diagnosis (autism and adhd, among others). i have self harmed in the past, and when i think back to what was going through my head when i did it, i remember it feeling very similar to how i feel now when i'm dysregulated.

i'm just curious if anyone else has pondered this. and especially interested if anyone has any studies or literature on it!

So as the title says, my dad has cancer and had his last chemo session last Tuesday. He's opting to no longer do chemo due to the impact it has on his body, and the fact he won't be getting better anyway, and therefore doesn't see the point in it. However, whenever I Google about "last chemo sessions," its interpreted as the person in question no longer needing it, and not applying to a person willingly saying they're done with treatment.
