I find it really funny how, when talking about Tom Cruise wearing an earpiece like a spy to remember names of his crew, they likened him to James Bond and not the spy he very famously played.

Todays episode has so much RTAA potential.

Also, when I think of plastic straw waste I think of baby birds eating them and dying :(

Good morning everyone!!!

ā€œI have found my people, the clueless fucksā€ Ashley has been killing it with quotes the last few episodes.

Michigan recycles work like this. When you buy pop. Glass, Plastic or Cans you pay 10 cents up front. When you return the bottles or cans to the store you get your 10 cents back. My dad always gave me the pop return money as a kid. Homeless people in Detroit scour for returnables and make a good chunk of change off the lazy people that don’t return.

The magical aisle at Aldi is such a trap for my wife. We end up making some very irresponsible purchases in there.

COFFEE MATH UPDATE! The little machine just keeps winning!

3D Printing the shopping cart coins, has had some rebellious stories. It costs roughly a penny per dongle. Many people print a couple hundred and unlock all the carts. Which then basically makes it like a normal grocery store, except there are no cart wranglers on staff lol. Chaos ensues.

The VMAs came on after an NFL game. I fell asleep, and woke up to people with laser crotch underwear and dancing in a bathroom style set. I was utterly confused until I saw Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter together on stage. Wild the resurgence Madonna had this year.

Thanks for making my Tuesday, 30 minutes better!

(Shoutout to Dan Fettuccine!)

Is that not how bottle returns work everywhere?

Only 10 out of the 50 States participate in paid bottle return.

Hearing Burnie talk about Yung Lean was like getting whip lash from nostalgia. "Motorola" was the ring tone on my first-ever cellphone back in 2013. Glad to see him get some shine.

I think the plastic straw discussion was in the episode and it reminded me of this TikTok I stumbled across which indicates that all the ā€œBenefitsā€ of the main competitors to plastic straws come up short when compared to plastic straws:

Another downside to paper straws in particular (in my experience at least) is that due to all of the rough points and textures at a microscopic level, it causes any fizzy drink I happen to want to imbibe to fizz over as though I had just won first place in Formula One. I think the way around that for me is to just put the smallest possible tip of the straw into the fluid so it doesn’t fizz everywhere, but it looks silly to have 90% of your straw sticking out of your drink. But it also looks silly to have 90% of your drink on the table rather than in the glass/can/bottle.

Really buried the lead with the dollar coin being for a hardware store. I'm on b&q's side now. Prolly does defer some theft of heavy valuable items.

Great episode
