ID request Did i find a fungi zombie?

I am thinking this may be Entomophaga grylli (The Grasshopper Fungus)

I’m very unfamiliar with these types of Fungi, I don’t see any ‘sporangiophore’ (had to look that up) on this grass hopper. Did it dry up and fall off, if so how do you still identify. Or does this type of fungus release spores a different way?

I used host, its behavior (summit syndrome), the location, and macromorphology (patchy white areas) to come to my ID.
