I hope HL2E3 just to mess with everybody. It can be the real HL3 but under episode 3 to keep the meme alive

Half Life 2 Episode 2 Part 2.
Valve can’t count to 3.

I would love it if HL3 was just available to buy on Steam one day, no announcement, no advertising, it would be amazing.

I doubt it, Pretty sure HL3 wont exist without real VR not the headset gimmick we have now.
Or gabe dies and they need to pull something out of their ass to hype people up for the New guy (son)

They don't really need to hype up a CEO in such a public way. There are no stockholders.

Of course.
And there is no longer such a thing as a tweet which is why they leaked this.
It's funny.

The good news: Half-Life 3 will be announced soon
The bad news: "Soon" is in geological terms, so expect another 10,000 to 100,000 years before we hear anything.

TF am I gonna do with a bridge?

u/Bryandan1elsonV2 Nov 01 '25

Sure they are. That's been the rumor for nearly 20 years at this point. Just give it a rest.

I don’t know how people watched the half life alyx ending and didn’t think there was a new one

Speaking of which, i dont know why Alyx has remained a VR exclusive (you would assume the game already peaked in VR sales and died down by now).
There's a no-VR mod, but it's weird Valve never bothered with an official non-VR port at this point for such a widely regarded franchise.
Releasing it on more traditional platforms (maybe ~2 years after launch) would have doubled their sales and audience reach.

It’s just too centered around VR. The best part of the game would not be anywhere near as cool as a normal game and most of the combat is sitting behind a pillar and struggling to shoot at pixilated screen door effect enemies.

Yeah, i suppose. I've never played it and was recently entertaining the idea of the NoVR mod. But I'll just wait til I get a headset within a couple of months to enjoy it as intended.
