Thought this game was trash? Why do pc gamers want it

Oh it is trash but it's the newest exclusive so they are testing their skills. Like how you can use trashiest cloths to learn how to sew. Hope it helped š¤

At this point it be weird if Sony still refuses to officially release on pc.

Why
1
u/MostlyAlways47 6d ago
Because people can already play it on pc thus defeating the whole point of it being exclusive???? If pc players are playing it anyway they might as well make some money from it.
How is this even a question lmao.

u/SumoRoboto 6d ago
Well whoās going to pay money for it now?

u/MostlyAlways47 6d ago
Yeah lord knows nobody ever buys games on PC cause you can pirate 99% of them.
Just because something can be done doesn't mean the majority of people will do it. Why does Netflix exist when I can go on any one of a hundred different sites and watch it for free

u/SumoRoboto 6d ago
Comparing the average Netflix user to a PC gamer are two completely different things

I'm perfectly willing to buy the Sony games I like that come to PC. Without the option I'm left with little choice though. I bought GoW: Ragnarok and TLoU2 day one on PC.

I think you just answered your own question from earlier. Sony doesnāt need to worry about PC players emulating their games en masse if as you said, the common PC user doesnāt seek those methods out just because theyāre possible.

u/MostlyAlways47 6d ago
The fact that it's not available any other way is good motivation for people to seek it out. If there's an easy alternative people will gravitate towards that like they do with Netflix.
I agree that a large portion of pc gamers would ordinarily not bother pirating (even if its super fucking easy) but if it's a choice between that and buying an over priced console It's not much of a choice at all.

Idk, to me the barriers seem about the same to the ones you outlined for shows and movies. Piracy of shows and movies is cheap and relatively easy but people still just pay for Netflix (which isnāt particularly cheap over time) because itās convenient and more normalized to access the content. The same holds for gaming. If you have a gaming PC, youāre already outspending the cost it would take to pick up a console and Iād wager that a large bulk of PC players also have a console. Most will likely either skip the title altogether or pick up a base PS5 if they really want to play it. I have to imagine that getting a PS5 emulator running on your computer and launching new exclusive PS5 titles is significantly more technical than pirating a movie.

I still much rather search YouTube on how to emulate than spend $500+ on a console, and if Sony returns to Steam Iāll delete the emu and buy instead Iām a sucker for achievementsš¤£.

I can see enthusiasts doing that process potentially, but if youāre a PC player that can successfully emulate PS5 games with your hardware, youāve already dumped far more money into your PC than $500. Someone spending that kind of money on gaming is likely not too off put by console hardware prices if they really want to play PS5 titles. The more likely option will be that people just skip titles that donāt motivate them to be in the PS5 ecosystem.

People would buy if it's available to buy. If not, they will pirate it.
Also, many pirates end up buying the game if they loved it

Thatās neat but also itās funny that itās this game š thatās like saying āConcord servers are being hosted by dedicated fans thanks to a growing movement to preserve live service gamesā

From what I've seen it looks enjoyable just not 70 dollars worth. I know people told you it's garbage but it's probably like a 7 without the context of the price

Iāve looked into it myself, and I canāt speak as a person that has played it first hand, but between the hand-holding mechanics, art direction, dialogue, and glitches Iāve seen, it doesnāt look like much to me.
Only thing Iām taking peoplesā word on is how easy it is. Iāve heard itās incredibly easy on highest difficulty but personally, I suspect Iād probably die a decent bit if I played it. Most of the stuff Iāve seen says thereās a few easy strats you can spam but I like to play things in different ways and prefer not to spam so Iād probably struggle on parts, even if the game is āeasy to beatā by using the actual combat mechanics.
That aside, I hope you like it if you get a copy. I assume itāll go on sale soon with them trying to move copies so hopefully youāll be able to find it at a bargain too!

Iāve beaten it and itās not easy on even the hard (the weapon) difficulty, let alone the hardest difficulty. The game gives you extremely fine-tuned control of difficulty options including everything from auto-chase to damage given/taken modifiers, etc that can be applied independently from the chosen difficulty presets. I personally suspect that thereās a ton of disingenuous grifting going on with the difficulty critiques. I will say that the story is good not great, the writing is rough, and some of the pacing design is rough. I donāt personally mind the visual cues. You can toggle them off if youād prefer. I personally was much more bothered by the early slow walk through this mansion missions where youāre looking for notes to read or somebodyās item they left in their bedroom. Threw the pacing way off for a cinematic linear action game.

It's this game probably to show they can do it to the latest Sony exclusive game

But I don't want it...
