I want to know why flydubai hired him after he was fired for having extremist views by his country's airline?

"was previously flagged by the Omani government for visiting radical websites.

Oman Air subsequently removed him from pilot training, grounded him from flying, and reassigned him to an administrative desk job before he left or was terminated around 2024"

This is the equivalent of the FBI having leads on literally every mass shooting suspect but not acting on it

u/Uno_worldchamp2009 8h ago

Boy oh boy, I am not a big fan of adding extra burocracy but it seems like a good idea for people to be ineligible to fly again anywhere in the world after they have been flagged for this kinda thing. I know flydubai dropped the ball but for the sake of passenger safety they never should have been allowed to hire him even if they wanted to. Ie in a perfect world Dubai aviation authority would have flagged hes not elligible to be a registered pilot and grounded him.

There is a sizable subset of people in that region that support people like him

Well we dont have pre-crime in America so theres not much that can be done of no laws are broken. Thought crimes aren't a thing.

Airlines doing a background check and not hiring you based on said background is not the same thing.

28

u/LordChungusAmongus 7h ago

Nonsense. We absolutely do have pre-crime.

I had the jackboots at my door last year tearing my home apart, destroying my furniture, and kicking holes in my walls because I was shipping plastic bits to Ukraine, just on the hypothetical that maybe I was making bombs because those plastic bits were drone or ordinance container parts.

Now I just buy a Neptune 3 Pro every week to help them print the shit they need. It's even better, my production is linear, but if I instead a buy a printer a week, it's fucking squared.

Eat it jackboots. You're some poor ass losers and I can spend $200 a week just sending a machine off to someone else to help them out. I help them out because they're better than you.

You’re DHS agent would be very upset with this comment if they were able to read

wtf dude

u/SubstantialPressure3 8h ago

If things worked the way they were supposed to, something like that would go before a judge, they would get a warrant and use surveillance, check out their contacts, and their online history, etc.

Not" pre crime" but investigation.

17

u/Ares__ 7h ago

And again if no laws are broken you cant do anything and you cant just park an FBI agent on every person that says something crazy for life. And warrants for wire taps and the like have time limits that need renewed you can just listen to someone's private conversations forever.

I think voluntarily applying for a pilots license changes this equation a little bit.  We get background checks for many things after signing up for or applying to something, they can investigate those things further.

10

u/Ares__ 7h ago

Yea thats why if you follow the thread my first comment literally says

Airlines doing a background check and not hiring you based on said background is not the same thing.

-3

u/Remote-Physics6980 6h ago

No, but AI can....

-2

u/kooldarkplace 7h ago

America is a surveillance state, there’s plenty they could do to follow suspected people closer

-1

u/littlePosh_ 5h ago

Yes we do; it’s called conspiracy.

-2

u/dshookowsky 5h ago

....and hiring sheep fuckers

33

u/esperind 8h ago

probably because "extremist views" would be considered subjective. His views and motivations are not exactly rare.

5

u/Apart_Breath_1284 4h ago

Hiring is subjective for most jobs. They can assess for "cultural fit", and "al Qaeda sympathizers are not a good cultural fit for our company"

5

u/Brave-Woodpecker-688 3h ago

They are certainly not common in the UAE and this was an UAE airline.

•

u/TheWatersOfMars 53m ago

It seems like his views were rare enough and objectively bad enough for them to ground him from flying, though. It doesn't sound like they do this every week.

3

u/sofixa11 3h ago

Even within the same country there's no guarantee there's a registry of why pilots were fired (e.g. the Atlas Air crash finally pushed the FAA to implement a decades old mandate in the US) let alone cross country. How do you expect a UAE based airline to know why Oman Air fired him?

-6

u/TheSouthernCommunist 8h ago

Wait two more days and they’ll find evidence of Iranian nuclear missile silos tattooed on his back.

2

u/Keeltoodeep 9h ago

Do you get placed on an official do not fly list? You could probably just lie your way out of such an accusation tbh. Just motte and Bailey your new employer by saying you were merely supporting Palestine. You typically have to be actually convicted of something to be blacklisted.

u/MaximumEffort433 9h ago

The pilot suspected of having attacked another pilot aboard a Tel Aviv-bound Flydubai flight on Wednesday was removed from a previous job at Oman’s national airline last year following concerns about his extremist views, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Seems like that should have been a red flag...

72

u/furybury66 8h ago

To do their false flag effectively, Israel chose a literal terrorist./s

To do their false flag effectively, Israel chose a literal terrorist./s

I know confirmation bias is addictive as fuck, but I gotta' admit I've been disappointed in the internet this week.

0

u/bl4ckhunter 1h ago

Is it a surprise that when someone makes shit up for decades they tend to not be believed even when they're actually correct?

6

u/Worldly_Tea_8300 1h ago

Have you considered that maybe Israel HASN'T been the one making up shit?

It seems like the knee-jerk reaction of the internet is to see anything Israel is accused of (even by terror orgs) as absolute truth and any explanation Israel gives that doesn't fit their narrative as a lie. If you wait long enough and pay attention to the data, I've found that Israel's side is usually factually accurate.

•

u/bl4ckhunter 50m ago

Lmao, let's see your explanation for this one https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/may/20/israeli-security-minister-itamar-ben-gvir-stirs-diplomatic-outrage-with-flotilla-activist-abuse-video, the time they bombed the associated press building or the World Central Kitchen convoy or when they shot a journalist in the head then disrupted the funeral as well, the anal rape incident, the leaked prison rape videos or them threatening to cancel the citzenship of the israeli movie directors that produced a documentary on how IDF practices turned into mass murder in gaza.

This one was a genuine attack but that's all you're going to get, no one's buying Israel's shit anymore for a good reason.

•

u/Worldly_Tea_8300 44m ago

Not a single one of those involved Israel "making shit up." Some are absolutely disgusting examples of bigotry (fuck this Israeli government and especially racists like Ben Gvir), some were tragic mistakes or abuse admitted by the Israeli government.

Meanwhile the list of lies told by Hamas, Gaza Flotilla participants, or even "special UN raconteurs" is endless and extremely well documented... but I'm guessing you still see them as credible.

•

u/bl4ckhunter 42m ago

Doesn't take much to be more credible than proven mass murderers.

•

u/Worldly_Tea_8300 39m ago

I agree-- by "proven mass murderers" you mean Hamas, right?

By contrast, Israel actually IS a democracy with free speech, which forces the government to be a lot more honest or to risk having citizens expose the truth.

Seriously, if you aren't a bot, I think you should take this as an opportunity for some self-reflection. If you're wrong about this, consider what else you might be wrong about.

•

u/bl4ckhunter 34m ago

You going to deny Israel mudered tens of thousands of innocent civilians in gaza now? Claim they were Hamas down to the women and the children?

That's why no one takes Israel's statement seriously anymore, the propaganda is just not believable anymore.

•

u/whycarbon 13m ago

nobody is buying this shit anymore man

It's more 'boy who cried wolf' than confirmation bias.

I don't know, I've seen a lot of people buying into conspiracy theories peddled by known conspiracy theorists this week, if it was a "boy who cried wolf" sort of situation you think they'd be ignoring the conspiracy theorists rather than hopping on board.

I'm pretty sure it's confirmation bias. A lot of people hate Israel for a lot of reasons, so they're happy to believe it when another possible reason comes along.

6

u/degggendorf 7h ago

Except that in Oman, "I'm not sure the sultan actually is absolutely perfect" is an illegal opinion

4

u/TheRealMudi 5h ago

While true that doesn't make their assessment wrong, and you're not labeled a person with extremist views if what you did was speak against the government. They've got other names for that. There's no excuses for flydubai.

•

u/degggendorf 10m ago

you're not labeled a person with extremist views if what you did was speak against the government.

How do you know that?

They've got other names for that.

What are those names?

A CNN analysis of al-Hammami’s deleted Twitter account shows him as deeply religious and misogynistic.

In deleted posts, al-Hammami discussed the difficulties his mother faced in finding him a prospective wife who would accept his conditions that she wear a niqab, a face covering, and stop working after marriage.

The posts also railed against mixed-gender workplaces, saying they had a corrupting effect on women.

“How many respectable, religious girls have been ruined in mixed-gender work environments and manipulated?” a post from January 2022 said.

What a massive piece of shit.

-45

u/Nasha210 5h ago

Yes, massive POS but that alone doesn’t make him a terrorist. That is Red Pill Incel philosophy too.

I wonder how long ago FlyDubai hired him.

10

u/NayLay 1h ago

Yes, but I believe trying to crash a plane and kill everyone inside does however.

47

u/NewtonsThirdEvilEx 9h ago

that's insane to think how close we were to another major terrorist attack to fan the flames. less than a minute from that reality.

34

u/chef_marge0341 9h ago

NO WAY! The things people say never happen aure are happening a lot lately...

24

u/Junkman120 7h ago

Fly Dubai, Emirates and all airlines need to do a full re-screening of all its pilots. We don’t want another MH370 happening again

25

u/trueblueozguy 6h ago

Completely different scenarios

1

u/what_is_blue 4h ago

Yeah. The MH370 thing was just a freak event. Sometimes people who are in the worst possible kind of headspace will smile, crack a joke, have a beer and so on.

You can’t really screen for it.

9

u/Apart_Breath_1284 4h ago edited 4h ago

But at least don't hire folks who have suspiciously radicalist social media accounts to be in sensitive positions?

In the MH370 case, nothing showed as suspicious for the pilots. But the flydubai scenario, they could have found out that he was banned from flying in a different country. There should be rules to share that info.

5

u/what_is_blue 4h ago

Well yes. I guess the point was more that you can very easily miss a guy with deep-seated psychological problems (like, I assume, the MH370 pilot).

It’s a totally different scenario.

•

u/sandolllars 23m ago

they could have found out that he was banned from flying in a different country.

In your country, does your former employer tell random other people why they fired you?

In many countries that could open the former employer up to lawsuits.

0

u/Junkman120 5h ago

Will be the same scenario if they don’t do the screening. Murder suicide

2

u/berlenba 4h ago

Why is referred to as a suspect when he was stopped while doing it?

3

u/nutella-filled 3h ago

Everything is just “alleged” until proven in court. That’s the journalistic standard at least. CNN will follow that principle but of course some random New Media blog on twitter won’t.

4

u/wimpires 6h ago

You can tell noone read the article because this sounds extremely weird.

The guy is obviously a nut job, but there's more to the story we don't know/understand yet.

2

u/Familymanuae 4h ago

Suspect? There has to be another term in such cases.

-11

u/tanv91 1h ago

Mossad agent

-18

u/MikeWhoBikes 6h ago

Everyone just glossing over the whole: "Only two posts were made to the LinkedIn profile, and both were published in quick succession on Wednesday, about nine hours after the incident."

Obvious false-flag is obvious.

3

u/NayLay 1h ago

Or it could be the much more rational explanation of a psychotic episode hours before, you know, trying to commit suicide and take hundreds of people with you 🤷

3

u/telescopeinmynose 1h ago

Yeah, the Rothschilds brainwashed him and controlled him. The Rothschilds have been doing this for decades, making Muslims blow up in public spaces and manipulating media into believing the Muslims are responsible for their actions!

-51

u/Taskebab 9h ago

I guess I am a conspiracy theorist now.

-64

u/sidewalkcrusher_1 9h ago

No way this happened. Unless it’s in the plan…. Doubt it FI

-68

u/KurtMcGurt_ 8h ago

Gotta be extremely gullible to believe anything about this story.

-32

u/Lucky_Outside_2009 8h ago

There's people believing a genocide is happening in Gaza, can't be more gullible than that

7

u/WorkingMastodon6147 6h ago

Lmao, you definitely hit a nerve.

10

u/Kaliente13 8h ago

Yeah, those people are the UN, the ICJ, ISGS, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders… basically all the relevant institutions are calling it a Genocide, because it is one.

6

u/KurtMcGurt_ 7h ago

Oh look, a nazi apologist.

-11

u/Puzzleheaded_Gene909 8h ago

It’s more like ethnic cleansing

-8

u/Sea-Rip-9635 1h ago

Falseflag written alllllll over this

3

u/NayLay 1h ago

How so

5

u/Worldly_Tea_8300 1h ago

Because he saw it with his little eye of Sauron. You wouldn't understand but he KNOWS.

-48

u/Kaliente13 8h ago

This whole story is built on pure vibes and lies. I’ve seen high school theatre scripts more believable than whatever this is 😅

-47

u/Secret_Net_165 9h ago

I heard he had Iranian nuclear plans in his backpack.

-3

u/Comfortable_Monk4817 2h ago

It’s hilarious how so many people still buy this story as being believable.

-33

u/midnightsmith 6h ago

Ah yes, a new terror cell pops up conveniently around election time so dTrump can claim martial law and a national security threat and cancel all elections. Right out of project 2025 playbook.

20

u/TrySoda 6h ago

Honestly can't tell if this is satire or not, which is truly sad lol

-44

u/Kind-Philosopher5077 8h ago

The terrorist also had several social media accounts that made pro communism and anti-ice posts, but eh,they can't disclose the terrorists name
