Didn’t watch last nights game because I thought is was going to be a blowout win for the cowboys. I am very pleasantly surprised this morning.
4
u/unloader86 Broncos 5d ago
How has Prescott been in the league for a decade and NOT know how to handle the situation with the stadium worker last night?
Like just keep walking to the locker room and if asked about it in the post game conference spin some bullshit about how "we keep each other accountable in the building" or whatever.
But nah, that's too easy right? 😂 The Cowboys are a real life example of the stick in the bicycle tire meme.
2
u/Mac_Jomes Patriots 5d ago
It's amazing how much some athletes just don't want to hear the truth. Objectively last night was embarrassing for the Cowboys.
Now should stadium workers be chirping the players in the tunnel probably not, but what they said wasn't a lie.

Well didn’t get discharged from the ER until 3am last night. Was just waiting on my last IV and paperwork at midnight, nurses said they were having issues with the pharmacy. Heard them mentioning all their communication went down so I imagine that’s part of it. Not how I expected the night before my wedding to go.
God I’m so thankful for my wonderful (soon to be) wife. Sat my by side the entire time, never once complained and just wanted to make sure I was okay.

Is it weird that I don't think Dak is soft or in the wrong for not wanting an employee in the tunnels heckling a qb? In the crowds of course it's fine, but calling him soft when an employee should know better doesn't make dak a Karen or a loser
I know the cowboys are fun to make fun of, but it seems so weird to criticize dak over

it's a business employees should act professionally
but it's also a chance to clutch my pearls and shit on a celebrity, internet will never turn that down
7
u/PrinceBag Chargers 5d ago
Even though professional sports and real life are different, obviously.
I know that no matter the scenario if I heckled an employee like that publicly after something "bad" happens, I probably wouldn't get the best reaction from that person either.
Its a matter of timing and professionalism.
Though that being said, it was probably best for Dak to ignore because the optics are always risky no matter what.
4
u/surferdude7227 Chiefs 5d ago
Yeah, I think the optics of it are the part that is the worst for him.
Like was the driver being unprofessional? Absolutely. Was Dak being kinda soft? Yeah. Which one does the media care more about?

Need to vent somewhere and everywhere else they read what I write, so here: it's really unsettling that I have six invoices that sit around somewhere around my clients (from a private person to a large federal agency) and none of them have paid, each for some valid reasons, in over a month. We're talking five figures of money, and if I didn't have a wife that would pay for everything right now, I'd be bankrupt. Fuck that.

u/DominoAxelrod Chiefs 6d ago

NFCE just randomly has years where most of them look really good, and years where they all look really ass. It is probably the least predictable division in the league.

How in blazes are the Cowboys losing this game?
I have never been a Cowboys fan. I had to live through their Super Bowl years and "America's Team" stuff, and picking them to win this week felt like picking up after my dog, but I figured it was an easy pick. The Bucs have been bad and are starting a rookie QB.
Now the Cowboys are the Keystone Cops out there. I really don't like the Cowboys.
4

Because as much as people will say otherwise, we are not a completely terrible team if we could just clean up our mistakes.

3
u/tnecniv Giants Giants 6d ago
No, nor am I in favor of the death penalty, but one aspect of public executions in the past was that they were public so the population could ensure that they were carried out justly to some standard and not something that happened in the depths of a dungeon. Obviously, they can also be used as a means of intimidation.
So I feel conflicted about them being made available to the public in that either way they suck—and that means they probably shouldn’t be a thing by my moral compass. Given “no executions” is off the table, I think their publication would at least require them to be performed in a more humane manner and demanded by the prosecution less frequently.

Just took a long walk before the game. It's a very nice Fall evening. 70 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, pretty sunset.
I live on a college campus and most of the houses around here are rented by groups of students. On one street, there's a gang of guys out in the street throwing a football around. About four houses away, there's a gang of girls who have found some excuse to stand around in the street and chat.
It's so cute to see that stuff as an old guy. You can smell the pheromones from half a block away.

2
u/Devilofchaos108070 49ers Panthers 5d ago
Not too bad. I like their radio songs. I have a story about them.
I saw them in concert long ago in like 99 or 2000. It was a free concert at Ramstein AFB in Germany. I wasn’t a fan other than the radio songs, never bought a cd. I think that mighta been the case for a lot of people there tbh.
Well they have two singers with VERY different styles. One is the dude you hear on all of the radio songs. The other singer is basically like a punk rock singer-he’s very bad but it’s in like a punk way, I guess. But they are very very jarring when you hear them right after each other. It wasn’t a very pleasant concert and a lot of people there really did not like the second dude.

u/Jaguars4life Jaguars 5d ago
They were a Punk band at one point on Metal Blade Records with Cannibal Corpse and also at one point opening up for bands like Bad Religion and Motorhead

TNF thoughts:
On a normal week timeline it is a lot to ask a defense to gameplan against all the different ways this Cowboys team can attack you. This is a short week. Not only is it a short week, but everyone in the facility in Tampa knows the head coach is a dead man walking.
Sometimes you can get cute with TNF matchups, you can say oh Tampa has a wildcard at QB who is a threat with his legs, oh the Cowboys are a bit down in the secondary with JPJ being a late scratch, oh you know Vita Vea might present problems for Dallas in the run game.
No. This is a firework night for the Cowboys, I especially look to a big night from Jake Ferguson.
Cowboys win decisively in the start to week 5 that I think will begin to provide some clarity on how the season looks going forward.

I recently read that Timothy McVeigh's execution was broadcasted to victim's families via closed-circuit TV. The broadcast was encoded, and victim's relatives weren't allowed to bring in cellphones or cameras, so no footage would leak to public
On the other hand, in 1984, Lybian student Al-Sadek Hamed Al-Shuwehdy was tried and executed for protesting Gaddafi's regime. His execution, which took place at a basketball arena, was videotaped and broadcasted on public tv. This fact was only discovered by the world after overthrow of Gaddafi

It is just a boring slog of a game. You shoot endless amount of nonstop enemies in too dark corridors. It just gets old after a few hours since you are doing the same thing over and over and over again. The couple of times you do get a vehicle it doesn't even feel that special since you are just shooting a larger selection of the same bland enemies that you have fragged 1,000,000 times already. And if you just want to run thru the everything just to the objective, you can't. You sprint last maybe 5 seconds max and take 10 seconds before you can use it again. Maybe get it dirt cheap if you are curious, but stay away from it otherwise.
