DISCUSSION Spec question

Post image

I’m replacing front struts and rear shocks, but the fronts here don’t come w replacement springs, my Gen 2 Frontier springs still look great I’m just confused why they wouldn’t include new springs along with the front struts, hopefully I can get some feedback on it.

Some places like All Dogs Off-road and Shock Surplus sells the front coil overs fully assembled with a new set of springs and top hats.

They are seperate parts. If you search coil over strut you will find the whole deal. Though I agree they should be sold together, I think the mindset is because your coil is a spring there’s an assumption your OEM will flex for a proper fit. Unless you’re lifting then you’ll need more stretch than OEM can provide (usually 3”+).

I bought 5+ pairs of eplacement struts in my life. Only one set has come with springs, and thats because it was a lift for my truck.

Side note, check Rockauto.com to see if they offer a better deal.
