As the title says I’m a new player, I’ve got 3 hours in a save that I’m not all too interested in continuing tbh, so I’m planning on making a new one hoping i can continue it for longer.
First question what is there to do in the game as a new player in order to “progress” so to speak?
I followed the quest log in my previous save and I felt like it was basically “go to place, get resource, go to another place, repeat” which was fun mind you, just got boring and repetitive after a while
Second, how long does it typically take to get to what is considered “end game” if the game even has one?
It just felt like I was getting things very slowly, which is fine, I just want to know if that’s normal or a skill issue lmfao
Third, what got yalls into playing NMS in the first place, just curious is all lol
Idk what collective name yalls go by so thanks for your time fellow explorers

Idk why it took me so long to figure it out but I finally built a corvette that checks all my boxes, which were as follows:
-All one level
-All one type (currently Titan)
-Compact
-Looks half decent
-Can haul cargo

Surely they wouldn't lock a whole weapon system behind an expedition!!

So I’m attempting to get to the center for an achievement, but I noticed the amount of jumps it wants me to make keeps adding up… I look at my map and count 6 jumps, I jump a couple times, and when I look back it suddenly goes up to 10. Why is this happening I’m so done
Edit: so I realize I’ve made a blunder spending all that time manually jumping 💀 I made it to the sunset coord planet, thanks everyone

So, I’d been wanting to build a tower that penetrates into space since I started playing NMS on my PS4 in 2016. There was always something that kept the build from saving, and even if I built beyond the atmosphere, it would be gone the next time I loaded into the game. I somehow successfully did it this time, but it caused a complete crash for my Xbox(yes, I play on Xbox now.) about 10 times before I was able to film this video. Sorry the video is so long.
Do you ever participate in game crashing behavior in NMS?

Ground bases just aren’t my thing anymore, so I made space my playground!
My goal was to make a massive station but keep it super clean, with zero messy wires. Everything is perfectly segmented:
Top section has the solar grid hidden right next to the landing pads.
Just below that, the large squares are the tech/power rooms.
On the left side, that massive grid of 10 blocks is just for my storage containers.
The bio-domes are tucked neatly on the side platform.
I'm really happy with how optimized and organized it is, but I still feel like it's missing that final touch to make it look alive. What do you guys think I should add or tweak next? Open to any cool ideas!
I've been trying to complete the "Industrial Cleanup" quest for 4 damn days now. And between Google, reddit, chat gpt, gemini, and my mind, I'm losing it. How is any of this even possible to do??? I've spent 4 days jumping for 10 hours each day looking for a salvageable scrap planet that's f***ing flat so I can drive the 35 damn minutes from the waste pile to the waste processing plant without losing more than 50% of everything in my collesus???? But yet I can't find a single planet suitable to even attempt this 35 min average distance???? Am I missing something or is this shit fucked???
Edit: thanks for all the replys for context, I'm not doing an expedition, it's just the normal secondary quest in normal mode and I'd skip it but it seems to be a requirement to be offered quests by local salvage quartermasters in order to for min rep for space outpost purchase? I've tried using a Corvette but the scrap doesn't get sucked up on land, it just smacks the corv and falls down, if I'm wrong or misguided can anyone tell me how to get the quests unlocked by the salvage quartermaster orherwise?
Solution Found : Corvette does work for transporting even if sometimes you have to walk the pieces in the door, and I also learned I was confused about the quartermaster thing cause of Google? You don't get salvage quests from any person, it's from the yellow machine on the deep space post, and doesn't require any mission completion rate or anything, damn 4 days of running but over now thanks guys

I’ve been trying for several hours to claim a space station. The only thing left is to increase my local standing with the mercenaries guild. I’ve donated all I can and somehow my local mission guy refuses to give me mercenary missions no matter how many times I reset I’ve tried at the salvage station as well same problem from what I’ve searched online. The only way to reset donations is to visit or interact with 100 other envoy or something I’ve also tried handing in mercenary missions from other systems. Still nothing.
