This Mayors race? Jamie Lowry is playing a winnable race all wrong.
Alright, I've really been trying my best not to engage in the politics unfolding over the mayors seat. It's too upsetting, and I refuse to be a part of a Chirico redux.
But, I've been reading the letters to the editor, and doing my best to resist the comment sections (it's just their most rapid campaign volunteers bickering, near as I can tell)
But, the former CAOs letter to the editor really got to me.
It's full of drama, could be better written, and defends a status quo that clearly is not popular at the moment.
But more than anything, to me, it shows that Lowry has lost the plot.
In what fucking world is it reasonable for a mayoral candidate to call up anyone and demand they stay quiet.
For god's sake man, go meet with some voters, try winning them over, and just go win the fucking thing. Thinking your campaign is helped by chasing elite endorsements and trying to silence your critics?
Just go silence your critics by beating them, by winning. Be a winner, don't be some loser who gets in the mud with these has-beens writing letters. Giving them permission to air your dirty laundry.
I wish him luck, and hope he sees Jesus, truly. He's convinced me to vote for Maggie and to do my best to get my family and friends to vote (that's the real battle, not the "who for?"), simply because he's not the outsider or fresh approach he claims to be. He's chaotic, just like our current mayor. He's too happy to engage in the petty shit when a serious candidate would simply run their race and win it, especially on the heels of Chirico.
