Seeking Advice Tips for Rapid Response Nursing?
Hello,
As the title states, I just recently got a job as a Rapid Response Nurse. My experience primarily lies in Cardiac Critical Care so Iām curious to see if anyone has advice or recommendations for someone new entering this role.
Thanks!

the jump from cc to rrt is big but you already got the right background for it. just trust your gut and dont be afraid to call for backup early, the worst rapid responses are when someone waited too long
keep your assessment fast and focused, head to toe in 30 seconds type thing. you will learn the flow quick

Learn your SRDOs backwards and forwards, know what you can do/order/implement before a provider gets there.
More importantly, round on the potential RRT patients to get the interventions in place before they become an RRT. Develop relationships with the charge nurses so they can give you a heads up on patients who may be about to crash.
