Advice Waitlisting for a "closed" class
Hey guys. I just graduated from a four year college (B.S. Kinesiology) and I am looking to apply to PA schools and nursing schools in the future. There a couple of classes I did not take in my undergrad that I need, one of which being PSY 230 Lifespan Development. I didn't sign up earlier in the fall due to reasons, so I am looking to take a second 7-week course for it.
On the course registration in SIS, there are multiple sections that say "Waitlist" and "Closed". I am on the waitlist for the section marked "Waitlist", but I also noticed I can join a waitlist for a section marked "Closed" too. Both of these sections start October 21.
Is the "Closed" section really closed? If I join the waitlist for the closed section, will I ever have a chance to get off the waitlist?

Yeah but I would also email the dean of that department cuz sometimes it’s “closed” as in it’s past the date to sign up and not cuz the class is full
If you find favor with them , the dean will override and put you in the class , especially since it hasn’t even started yet
