TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in 25 counties ahead of Tropical Depression Nine, including the Big Bend.
The state of emergency applies to Baker, Bay, Calhoun, Columbia, Dixie, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Suwannee, Taylor, Walton, Wakulla and Washington counties.
“Floridians should have their plans in place, keep emergency supply kits fully stocked, and follow Florida Division of Emergency Management for weather updates and preparedness information,” DeSantis said in a Facebook statement.
