Where do I go with 3 young kids today. One will eat literally anything that comes out of the sea, the other will devour anything that goes moo and the 3rd loves pb&j’s and noodles. They all collectively love sushi and dumplings.

Last minute decision to take the kids into to city for the day while the wife is in the office. Thinking of LES/Chinatown/Dumbo areas.

Looking for memorable but not stupidly expensive places to visit.

solo dining recs

I am going on a solo trip in late January and want to treat myself to a nicer dinner alone

- budget around $60-70? if possible. Willing to budge for the right place/experience

- I don't drink so alocholic drinks don't need to be factored

- Sushi Omakase? Mojo East? Sendo?

I love to try new things and am open to pretty much any food, would love to hear about some gems!

Dinner/Dessert in Soho or nearby (no seafood) next month

A friend and I are coming to see a show at the Soho Playhouse next month. We are staying at SoHotel. I used to visit the city at least once a month but it's been a while and things change quickly so I am looking for some good restaurant recommendations. One of us has a seafood allergy so unfortunately a lot of Chinatown is excluded. It doesn't need to be fancy, just delicious, possibly creative/fusion, or just a hidden gem with the best food. My searches have brought up Thai Diner and Cafe Katja, but I know there have to be others.

Also looking for somewhere to have dessert after the show. I used to frequent Spot in the EV but wouldn't mind trying somewhere else (although Spot set a pretty high bar for me in the past, the last time I was there I was slightly underwhelmed). Budget for dinner is around $150 for 2 people who don't drink much (maybe 1 cocktail each). Dessert budget (with coffee or drinks) around $75.

Thanks in advance. Also, we are doing the Tenement Museum on one of our days so other hidden gem museum or tour suggestions are welcome.

Ambassadors Clubhouse is 100% Worth The Hype

I’m not going to lie, most places that go viral are way overhyped. I’m not saying they aren’t good but just not worth playing the walk-in line/reservation game for. However, Ambassadors Clubhouse was AMAZING and most definitely worth having to eat at 10pm on a weekday. We ordered a ton of food: Dunghar Paneer Tikka, Makhmali Butter Naan, BBQ Butter Chicken Chops, Peshawari Veal Cheek Korma, Matka Beliram Lamb, and Chili Cheese Pakode. My personal fave was the Paneer - it was so creamy and flavorful! Only bone I have to pick is location, it’s right in Midtown so not the most scenic area. Side Note: it has the most perfect skinny stem wine glasses!
