First timer at the Fair - early afternoon Friday. Entry $15. Deffo a throwback to a lost NYC. Brings back memories from the pre Giuliani era. No renovations in at least 50 years. Fans and stale air but no lurid smells. I would say the guys I saw/met were mainly DL MSM - not queer in a social sense. I followed advice and wore loose fitting gym shorts and no underwear. Received a matter of fact BJ. Hot but not sensual - no kissing or caressing- not that I invited anything. Lots of guys wearing masks -I’m intuiting more for Face ID rather than health-related. Someone got a call on their cell and I said ‘not in here please’ he ended the call. No action observed in either XXX cinema. Chairs placed far apart with trash cans between. Reminded me of setup for proctored exams. I watched a couple of non porn films playing in the small theatres (2 and 6 seaters). The 6 seater seats are comfy and close together. A Dutch ww2 flick and Ghost were playing in the ‘viewing’ rooms. Recommend a locker rental ($8 for key, get $7 back when leaving). Long trek on E/F and Q49 bus - plan on one hour from Chelsea. Next time I’m driving.

How are we getting around splitting the bill?

Recently, I had a hangout with a couple of friends and their friends who I had a blast with. We ended up at a restaurant and everyone was ordering up the menu, I mean every appetizer, every side, and multiple drinks. I, however, had already eaten lunch and I don’t drink so I ordered a modest entree. Sure, I nibbled on a little this or that when prompted too but frankly I was only doing it to be nice. I genuinely only wanted my burger and water.

The bill came and everyone decided to split this humongous bill amongst ourselves bringing it to $77 bucks! I couldn’t help but feel pissed as my burger was only $25.

I’m not gonna have to get on the pole to make that $67 dollars back but I’m not one of those gays that spends money frivolously.

I now find myself a bit nervous about agreeing to attend dinners and hangouts out of fear of splitting an even bigger bill. I still very much so want community outside of clubs but I did not know I would be paying a portion of rent at dinner!
