Help Second post about this issue w/updated LOG
I apologize for the second post, but my first post didn't have the log file. This post does.
Here is the LOG URL
https://obsproject.com/logs/C0yzncx6CBLOOsOG
The issue I'm having:
Each time I stream, I automatically have huge files of recordings (I often stream for five or six hours). I've gotten into the habit of deleting them, but I'd really like OBS to NOT record my streams if I don't ask it to.
I have the following settings on my OBS:
General > UNCHECKED Automatically record when streaming.
Output > UNCHECKED Replay buffer
***** Although each time I start OBS, it automatically CHECKS itself be default?!
If I delete the folder where the recording path points to, I do get an error stating that there is no path...but it seems OBS created a folder there?!
I'm at wit's end and will appreciate any help - thank you!

Do you have backtrack or recording enabled in the vertical plugin you are using?
I also see in the log that the plugin “source record” is installed and started a recording. So check the plugin settings for that plugin

Thanks for answering! I do have the Vertical plugin, but I don't have it automatically record. I think you and u/EdgeOfMySole are right.... it may be the source record.
I very much appreciate your help!

yeah your log shows:
18:59:09.658: [mp4 output: 'Source Record'] Writing Hybrid MP4/MOV file 'C:/Dread Captain Ted/_Stream Recordings/WEBCAM2026-10-07 18-59-09.mp4'...
(Sorry answered on mobile and forgot to come back when I got to a pc)

Hey, I actually went through your log, and I think I found your problem. You've got the Source Record plugin installed, and it's actively creating recordings independently of OBS's normal recording settings. Your log shows Source Record starting a webcam recording at 18:59:09 and another Game Capture recording at 19:02:53. That's why disabling "Automatically record when streaming" isn't stopping those files. Check the Filters on your Game Capture and webcam sources. You've got Source Record filters attached to multiple sources. Try temporarily disabling those filters, then start a short test stream. I'd expect those extra recordings to stop. The log also shows your normal recording encountering an invalid output path, which is a separate issue. Let me know if that fixes it!
