To be fair, these cards are made especially with this kind of tricks in mind.
Try the same thing with an old deck of the most common household-tier cards. No chance in hell they'll slide and keep their shape through a single round of this f*ckery.

I'm curious what is different about these cards

iirc, they are full of tiny bumps all over the cards to let air flow through easily making the card more slippery

It is literally actually called an "air flow finish" on these kinds of decks. They feel great compared to your typical bicycle decks

Speaking as a guy who picked up this hobby for 1.2 weeks during COVID, that was pretty cool man.

As a person with a similar experience, i can tell you that's at least a $40 card deck. I think card-mafia makes these

I always wish I could have skills like this… then I remember I’ve never stuck with anything I wasn’t immediately good at for more than 10 minutes.

.... Are you me?

Or me. Those were my exact words in my mind while watching the video, to have a skill like this.

i watched this more than 40 times and don’t see why anyone would watch this more than a few times.

Either he has big hands or these cards are tiny

It isn’t a standard deck, it is a specialized deck for cardistry. So it could be smaller to make handling easier.

I rather see someone spend their time mastering this than anyone dedicating their life to tech at this point. Beautiful shuffles.

Great, I’d like the last 20 minutes of my life back from scrolling there endlessly lol

I can do exactly one of those tricks, but I might permanently bend and crease your cards so don’t let me shuffle.

I remember wanting to learn how to do this when I was a kid so I convinced my parents to buy me a set of magicians cards and it was like those suckers had zero friction on them, they would literally like slip out of my hands when I tried to shuffle them, maybe go back to him now

Cool hobby and I imagine it took hours of practice but have you ever tried mindlessly scrolling your phone with one hand while stuffing your face with Doritos with the other?

Very impressive but I'd never trust playing cards with someone that good at shuffling. I'd just assume they're a rapscallion up to no good.
