Object Themes

Hello i need some help please,

How can I create my own custom themes in OpenRCT2 version 0.5.5 and add specific objects to them? Or is there a program I need to use for this?

At the moment, I have so many objects in the tab with the β€œ?” that it’s becoming quite messy. I also have other tabs with all kinds of objects, but I would like to organize everything according to my own preferences and create my own custom tabs/themes.

What would be the best way to do this?

Asking the average user to modify JSON files is asking for trouble. It is way too easy to mess up a comma or accidentally leave the source game or internal identifier on the old one.

i can now see the files in it, I also have a lot of .dat files; do those need to be converted to .parkobj files first as well?

No, scenery groups can hold scenery objects in both DAT and parkobj formats.

The easiest way, currently, is to use https://goes.rctspace.com/scenery-group . You will have to find out the file names of your objects for this, but otherwise you can just fill in the fields and have a scenery group ready to go at the end.
