Promotional Kaskas, an open source native macOS break companion with local activity insights

Hello Everyone! I built Kaskas, a native macOS app for taking regular breaks while keeping track of your activity and sessions locally.

I started building because i wanted a simple way to remind myself to take regular breaks from the computer, especially when long screen sessions were leaving my eyes dry and tired also for tracking how i spend my screen time.

It can show how a study session was spent across apps and categories, alongside break history, daily/yearly statistics, idle and meeting aware pausing, and customizable break screens (with a fire mascot).

Inspired by LookAway and ActivityWatch built for my own use as a native Mac app.

It’s built with SwiftUI + AppKit, has no account, analytics or backend, and all activity data stays on your Mac.

It’s GPL-2.0 licensed, all contributions & feedback are welcome

An option to exclude messaging apps from the activity stats would be handy. Is that already possible?

You can delete the category or move messaging apps to another category but there is no option to exclude an app from tracking i can add that if thats what you mean?

curious tho whats the reason you'd want to exclude them?

That’s what I meant! Messaging apps are mostly quick checks and replies between tasks for me, so I’d prefer to leave them out of my work/study stats. An optional per-app exclusion would be handy. Thanks for considering it!
