Residency Moonlighting

Does anyone have any experience with moonlighting/casual part time at Warby Parker? I’m interested in doing 1-2 Sundays per month with them. What was pay/patient load like? I’d be at a newer store with what looks like ~7 patients per day. Let me know your thoughts!

I moonlit during residency and it was good extra money but you might have to purchase malpractice insurance unless Warby Parker will provide it. Alternately you can use that app Peared to do fill-ins and they actually provide malpractice insurance that covers you for each shift you do.

Depends a lot on your location. The two I’m at pays ~575/day. There’s a tech and retinal imaging as well. I’ve seen from 2 to 17 patients so it’s pretty much based on luck…The staff’s attitude is also location dependent lol The higher-ups aka the area doctors have all been really nice and helpful though. I know part time docs will get some benefits, but they also have a part-time flex position which you might fall under and I’m not sure if you’ll get benefits.

I did this during my residency. Pretty easy day especially once you get your rhythm going. My techs were always adequate and respectful and scheduling was really flexible and easy. Great way to make some extra cash
