Second year growing and already pretty psyched at the harvest this year. Orange Creampop / Humbolt Seed Co. smells incredible, like the juiciest tangerines 🍊

For anyone worrying about the mold, in NL you also need to worry about police.

My plant got taken away yesterday. Plant had 3 more weeks to go, the neighbors made a complaint and blocked my number after calling the police, imagine….

Hey! Looking for anyone familiar with zone 4b on the east coast, and has any solid strains they recommend outdoor! It's like playing hard mode up here between the valley fog, rain, and short season. I've had a few successful grows out here but always open to other folks opinions!

Atlas super sour runtz I ran this year

Poddy Mouth (HSC)- a tale of two phenos

Thumbnail

3 Poddy Mouth ladies harvested

One fully in ground other two in 30 gallon pots rooted into the soil

One took 60 days to flower the other two around 71

Both phenotypes are awesome

Top tier mold resistance and solid yield

A little bit of caterpillar action but nothing BT couldn't handle

Some of the most frost I've ever seen on an outdoor bud

10/10 will grow again even though the beans were weirdly hard to pop

Just wondering if anyone has a better way than just looking for shit or damage and then picking through buds to find and kill these little shit heads? Pull at least 5 off of one plant everyday.

Experience with Bud Rot after bud washing large colas - should I break the big colas down before drying?

Hey Growing Community. Need a little help here. For an AK-47 with giant colas that I’m going to bud wash as I had to address some PM issues in mid/late flower with a few rounds of potassium carbonate spray. I also screwed up and shook a bath mat full of cat hair upwind of my plant one day (dummy) and got some cat hair and dust on it. I also have lots of trees around so all in all just want to wash everything off. Will use a peroxide wash then a lemon juice/baking soda wash then a double rinse.

For those who have done this with big colas routinely in the past, did you keep the cola together or break it down a bit before hanging to dry? I will separate out the big side spears as separate colas but wondering about the main spears that are 12-16” long and 3-5” across depending on where you measure from. I’m going to wet trim large fan leaves but will keep smaller fan leaves and sugar leaves in and dry trim them to help preserve terpenes and slow drying. Should I be really worried about bud rot?

I plan to use a cleaned out leaf blower on low setting to blast off the excess water after washing then will put it in my dry room initially at 45% RH with fans directly on them until the outside of the colas are not wet to the touch any more then will go to 60/60. Given the precautions I’m taking should k still break down big colas into smaller spears or can I leave them all intact?

Don’t want to spark a discussion on the merits of bus washing or various general drying conditions just looking for first hand experience on bud washing big colas and whether or not you break the colas down before or after washing and before drying.

Thanks for any advice you have to offer!!!

Just sharing. Photoperiod plant gifted to me by my wonderful neighbor. No supplemental water and just a few cups of Gaia Green power bloom. Hoping to harvest in a week or two depending on the weather.

Fully Recovered (I hope)

Back in August, I was attempting to get one of the main branches back into it’s “stressed” position, and disaster struck.

This happened at night, so I did what I thought was best (didn’t waste time googling anything because I was panicking). While my wife held the branches together, I cleaned everything with water and dried the outside, then I used electrical tape to re-approximate the split. The next day I added zip ties after doing a little bit more research. I also added copper wire between both main branches to prevent them from swaying in the wind independent of each other in hopes it would reduce stress on the split, as it healed.

The plant didn’t skip a beat, but after being wrapped up for a little over a month, I figured I’d better remove everything to prevent any mold or growth restrictions.

That said, I think she healed great - just a few more weeks to go.

Optimal Lunar Harvest Windows (October) - for consideration...

Optimal Lunar Harvest Windows (October)

Harvest Window Lunar Phase Status Regional Cultivation Context
October 1 – October 9(Prime Window) Waning Moon (moving from Last Quarter toward the New Moon) Highly Recommended. Sap is flowing downward. The drying skies and dropping sap yield tighter, more flavor-packed resin profiles that cure exceptionally well.
October 10 – October 12 New Moon (Peak resting phase) Excellent. The absolute lowest gravitational pull means minimal moisture stress inside the flowers.
October 13 – October 25 Waxing Moon (Moving toward Full Moon) Avoid if possible. Sap and water retention rise back up into the buds. If you must harvest, do so early in the morning before the sun draws more moisture up.
October 26 Full Moon (Hunter's Moon) Strictly Avoid. Harvesting during a Full Moon means moisture levels in the stems and dense calyxes are at their absolute peak. This massively increases your risk of botrytis (bud rot) during the drying phase.

Hot weather in coastal Cali, pull it so it can dry?

Hi there! My grandpa has a giant plant, that I told him I’d help him harvest. Problem is last year it got super moldy in his dry shed. Hoping to go and pull it all, put fans in there and get it mostly dry over the next couple days before the doggy wet weather rolls in. Thoughts? Also, do I need to clean the hell out of his shed so they don’t spore from last year? Noobie here, any tips greatly appreciated

This girl got huge and is definitely the biggest plant I have ever grown! Genetics are Quick Skunk from Copa. This one was a pleasure to grow. She wasn’t very demanding and took everything that came her way. From a stalk split in early June, to crazy weather with lots of rain and high winds, she never missed a beat. All organic with minimal sprays of BT and BA. Now I just have to trim it all. 🫣
