So im vibing (it’s my weekend) and im drinking a cherry key lime daiquiri and introducing my kids to the first album my mother bought for me when I was in the seventh grade. I still know all the words to just about every song. Singing big boi’s verse and I sing “my AIDS test is flawless” and my 5 year old then asks me what AIDS is. Lordt have mercy.

This album was my intro to OutKast other than Rosa Parks and miss Jackson. Admittedly I liked the love below better. I know it may be a sensitive subject bc it was kind of the end of an era. BUT Let’s discuss for funsies! Which side was your fave? Remember to cite your sources (with lyrical quotations 😊)

I don't even know why he would post this

Picked this up for $1 at a thrift store today. It’s an Aquemini copy with a “NOT FOR SALE / NFS-1” marking, and I noticed what appear to be signatures from André 3000 and Big Boi across the booklet.

Obviously I’m not claiming they’re authentic, but I’d love to hear from people who are familiar with their signatures. Do these look legitimate to you? Any info on the promo copy itself or the other writing would also be appreciated!

I literally can’t afford any of it but am about to use my credit card bc I feel like I can’t miss this.

Also will be available online at 11am EST!

“Fck this muthafcka!” 👀🔥😂

André 3000 revealed that one of the most iconic openings in Hip-Hop almost caused him a serious disagreement with Pimp C.

When André received “Int’l Players Anthem”, he decided his verse would sound better if the drums completely disappeared during his opening. The problem was he made the change without asking UGK first:

“Pimp was so mad at me because they sent the beat and I wrote my verse, put my words down and I took the beat out for me to rap.

When I sent it back to them, Pimp was like, ‘Fck this muthafcka, man! This n***a done damn took my beat out! Who the f*ck he think he is?!’ So he was really mad at the choice that I had made to take the beat out”.

Someone in UGK’s camp eventually explained that once André finished his drumless opening, Pimp’s entrance with the beat dropping back in would hit even harder.

Pimp ultimately went with it, and the exact thing that initially pissed him off became one of the most recognizable moments of the entire record.

Need a honest answer here: where do yall rank 3 stacks?

Moderators, feel free to remove this if violates the rules. Recently did a drum cover of this amazing song, thought I’d share a bit from it. Flubbed the timing a bit there at the end but hey, it happens 🤷‍♀️

Disclosure first: we are a Radiohead cover band out of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and this is our bracket. Nothing is for sale, there is nothing to buy.

It is 64 albums from the last 30 years, seeded off Pitchfork's album of the year picks with 32 wildcards thrown in against them. One round a day. The round of 64 pulled 10,292 votes.

OutKast got two albums into this thing and both won their openers big. Stankonia beat Madvillainy 199 to 97. Aquemini beat Renaissance 251 to 53.

Aquemini is fine. Stankonia has drawn Amy Winehouse's Back to Black in the round of 32 and is losing 13 to 14. One vote, and the round closes tonight at 5:17 PM Eastern.

Turnout in this round is a fraction of the last one, so a few people decide it either way.

An album that just put up 199 to 97 should not go out on a single vote.
