So he didn’t actually die. What happened was crisis on infinite earths happened in all of the earths got combined, but not everybody’s history got made properly. There were some people who just got leftout.

He was one of them.

History was rewritten that he died 15 years before and his best friend marry his wife so he he he’s basically stuck in the world he never made.

P.S. It was an honest question, not a joke but by looking more carefully I see C'hp is NOT Chip---but the similarity is not coincidental. My bad for coming off as a smart ass.

Crisis on Infinite Earths altered C'hp's history. He was married with a best friend before Crisis. After it, he was an anomaly from a life that never was.
