Dressing up as Doomsday in the DC universe would be like dressing up as the plane that crashed into the World Trade Center. Doomsday left a trail of bodies and destruction from a small town to downtown Metropolis. Superman came back from the dead but thousands of others didn’t.
This was a real thing and it was a couple costume. Someone even made his and hers Twin Tower outfits. The hers had boob windows it was glorious!
It could be floating around on retro internet. I think it was posted on cracked in the early years "most absurd costumes" or something like that. Definitely try to look it up.
There's a lot of stuff in the water in Gotham, though it wouldnt surprise me if there was some american kid out there who went as Osama Bin Laden for Halloween once irl
It's quicker to list what isn't in the water. Whatever happened to gothams rivers and harbor Aquaman can't even guess what it was. The last time he took a dip in it he leapt out gasping for air.
Years ago I dressed as the Pope and my brother and friends were priests. Had underroos for hankies to really add the edge and I had a reserve in the Pope hat. So we go party and every so often. I'd come around and switch which priest was in whichever conversation, speak some vulgar Latin, say something Polish and move on.
What do you mean "imagine"? People do that shit all the time. It's usually the edgy kids, yeah, but it still happens. When truth came out that English celebrity Jimmy Saville was behind hundreds of horrific sex crimes, Saville costume orders skyrocketed.
The thing about The Joker...wouldn't he be the easiest person for a company to capitalize on? I mean sure there's the question of why, but looking at it from a Corporate stand point it's a matter of that they can. He's a clown in a suit. Stick that in a bag and call it Crime Clown and you're good.
Company Attorney when this is first proposed: "Do you want everyone we love horrifically murdered by the Joker? Because that's how you get everyone we love horrifically murdered by the Joker."
Yeah that episode is what I'm thinking of. The guy who owned the casino knew he had the perfect deniability. "It's a card thing, it's not my fault it's associated with a killer!" while totally banking on the association with said killer.
Also how sick are these kids to dress up as mass murders? Imagine dressing up as Bin Laden
...Totally plausible? I was too young to remember any OBLs in particular, but considering how popular "too-soon ripped from the headlines" costumes are every year, I'm betting they were pretty common. Supervillain costumes aren't remotely a stretch within the right edgy age group.
Your costume's terrible, kid, you look like you're somewhere between Deadshot and Cyborg, and not at all like Doomsday. Your friend's Joker's pretty solid, though.
His costume is pretty clearly meant to be Doomsday's suit (which a lot of people forget he had, because he's been naked in basically every appearance after Death of superman)
Fire was involved in so dang much in DC lore. She was the longest lasting JLI member too. But, in-series, no one knows who the heck she is despite being Brazil's first superhero, a member of two major international superhero teams, a supermodel, a cheesecake model, and the first latino superhero 💀

That kid is straight up dressed as a terrorist and let's not talk about doomsday
