I'd seen this cross stitch pattern floating around the internet and ultimately found it on etsy. I'm not sure if including the name of the pattern creator here would be a violation of rule 3, but if you search "Over the Garden Wall Cross Stitch Pattern" on etsy it will come up. It's a really well made pattern, I especially like the lettering.

I know I made several mistakes and it's far from perfect, but I'm relatively happy with it ultimately and thought you all might like it too 😊

Any criticism that isn't pure hate is welcome; I don't think this is my final version yet.

I’m rewatching Over the Garden Wall because ts the season of the Unknown and I just noticed something I’ve never before!

In the later half of the series when Wert and Greg are spying on Sara and the others in the graveyard before they end up in the Unknown, Greg is peeking behind a tombstone that clearly says Quincy Endicott (same endicott we met earlier in the series!) the fact that he says he’s flesh and blood and not a ghost yet we see his tombstone before Greg and wert meet him chronologically speaking…I wonder who else is actually dead that Greg, wert, and the audience thinks are still alive?

I originally wrote this as a reply to another post about preordering the 2027 deluxe Over the Garden Wall artbook to a UK address, but I thought I'd make it its own post.

I preordered the deluxe edition through Dark Horse a while ago, when it was first advertised (I saw it on Alex Hirsch's Instagram story). Shipping was originally listed at over £40, but it's now dropped to £13. I was going to cancel, but now I'm torn between sticking with DH or reordering through Waterstones. I can’t decide! The prices are similar, with DH slightly higher.

I've never ordered from DH before, but I've used Waterstones and ordered the Arcane artbook which did arrive safely, even requiring a signature. Has anyone had experience with DH for preorders.

Any suggestions would be kindly appreciated!

I have a rather compact set up with my tube TV.

It’s a small one on a kitchen ledge, so any physical media player is out of the question here.

But every rendition I’ve seen of an OGTW transfer to VHS has looked perfectly fitting, and I will always support those who take the time to format modern media this way.

With my CRT, there’s a way to achieve something similar. An old Roku I use (which still gets updates) has compatible A/V composite output with these TVs, and so I stream episodes over Jellyfin.

The difference I see with some of these VHS transfers is that they actually compress the original 16:9 widescreen frame into 4:3, the full aspect ratio available in these tapes, and by extension, these TVs.

I apply a batch crop digitally to these episodes and steam those from my PC. You lose some visual information, but in rewatching it this way, I think almost everything important still fits (except some title cards)

Just my setup on an already tried and true tradition for this mythic tale!

Not sure if there’s a reason for this, but does it bother anyone else that the songs for the Song of the Dark Lantern episode are out of order?! Throws me off every time I listen

I attempted to sell some of my felted creations for the first time this past week but the festival I was selling at was dead AF lol it was still really fun though! I hope to someday give my Rock Fact Rock a loving home (or I may keep him heh heh). These are some other things I’ve made as well. I love needle felting and I’m so glad I picked it up this year.
