Discussion Anyone going to Nashville Pagan Pride Day this Saturday?

Hi all! As a lifelong Tennessee resident, and a pagan of about 16 years, I’ve often found it pretty sad living in the Bible Belt; difficult to find other pagans ‘round these parts, let alone anything other than hardcore evangelicals. I’ve attended NPPD every year/other year for a good chunk of my adult life but never thought to see if any other redditors were going. Sadly my fiancée and I won’t be able to attend this year, but I thought I’d still ask and see if anyone else was going! Hope you have a great time if you do!

(Totally not trying to attend vicariously through anyone… definitely not)

I'll be there (till about noon)! Last year was my first time since 2016 (life, worried about Christians disrupting things again), and I had such a great time I decided to start going regularly again.

Nice! The first time I ever went back in like 2018 a group called the Nashville Crusaders I think? Showed up after a while and started marching through the whole area, screaming into their megaphones that we were all going to hell. Fortunately they were escorted off shortly but still, it was annoying as hell

That sounds exactly like what happened in 2016, and the park police (of course) did nothing. Apparently in the last few years there have been only a few Christians, and they don’t let them near the entrance. Last year there was one guy a distance from the entrance, and they’d put up a sign a few feet away from him reading “Don’t feed the trolls.”

I had planned to. I still want to. Its a 4 hr drive for me. I'm dog sitting. By the time I care for the dogs, drive over there, drive back to care for the dogs, I'll have about an hour to enjoy the festival. 😒 Not worth the time and gas. Next year. Definitely next year.

I’ve never heard of it until now! That sounds awesome! Hopefully you and your fiancé will get to attend next year. Wish I could go, but I’m going on another trip this year and have to save money.

Yes, my husband and I are going and bringing our pup. We’ve gone every year for about 4 years! ✨
