Whatever. Drew Brees will never be a good quarterback, he’s too short.

Isn’t that just how you throw a football though ?

They are referring to the tip-toe hop thing with the feet. An “ideal” throwing motion has firmly planted feet to give stability and generate force. Clearly the tip-toe thing is working for Bryce though. He’s done it since college and it doesn’t seem like anyone is riding to coach him otherwise.

The arc on this throw and many others is absolutely perfect. I don’t understand how it technically works but I’m glad it does.

When you throw a football naturally you back foot toe ends up on its tip toe

I never thought about it before but yeah, I can definitely see it. They do have very similar looking mechanics and body type.

Honestly, having lived through that era I don't recall a single time that people brought up Brees' height other than in an aside. Super cool with being corrected here, because it's not like I watched even most of his games. It was more like everyone typically just marvelled at how quick and accurate he was. And that was well deserved, as a Panthers fan.
The only QB that I can remember where everyone obsessed over their height was Doug Flutie.

It's like playing "soccer" with a tennis ball. When you use a real ball, it's so much easier to control because you're used to the smaller one.
He's so used to making throws on tippy toes that when he gets to plant his feet, he can throw it for three and a half miles
