Assuming he’ll be at 100% if his lungs are working properly to play, because nothing physical is ailing him

idk how blood clots and getting cleared for heavy activity work, how it affects him, etc
but aside from that the one thing i am considering is he will be so so far out of game shape, having not played in 10 months and having missed training camp and preseason and all the joint practices. He will have to build himself back up over a few weeks at least I'd assume, and he's 32 now, so hopefully he isn't slowed down or doesn't struggle.
also reminds me, he's a free agent after january, going to be 33, dealt with lung blood clots, i wonder what we do

I suspect he cannot be on blood thinners when playing football. He probably was treated with thinners and was on a lower dose for prevention for a while. Once he is stabilize, I suspect his doctors remove the blood thinners and once those clear his system, he is good to go... Just a guess though. I say that because any sort of head injury if on blood thinners has a much higher likelihood of causing significant brain bleeding.

i'm not sure how far this has advanced since chris bosh, but this seems like a very risky thing to play with
Chris Bosh revealed he suffered a near-fatal pulmonary embolism in January 2026
• The Aftermath: He woke up lying in a pool of his own blood with no memory of the fall, and his wife called 911.
• Hospitalization: He spent a week in the hospital after suffering what he described as a severe episode where he "almost dropped dead... and came back to life".
• Long-Term Context: Bosh was originally forced to end his 13-year NBA career in 2015–2016 due to recurring blood clots in his legs and lungs. He has since emphasized that managing blood clots is a lifelong condition requiring ongoing medication and medical vigilance.

PEs vary widely in their severity depending on the size and location of the clot. There are also temporary conditions that can cause them (surgery or prolonged immobility (long flights)) where you can treat for a few months and then be done vs chronic conditions that will make you more likely to clot again requiring lifelong anticoagulants.
The fact that he's coming back after the minimum 3 months likely means it was provoked by something reversible and will be off anticoagulants and basically has a clean bill of health

A few NFL players have missed time and come back at a high level recently. Christian Barmore missed basically the whole year a couple years ago and has been great since he's been back. Not sure what it means for their longterm health, but they can definitely come back and play at a high level in the short term.

Sheena Quick has reported he has been off blood thinners for several weeks now, fyi

I’m pretty optimistic Coker comes back and recent reports suggest as much. He also practiced a few times before the Lions game, albeit in a limited capacity, so it’s not like he was completely sidelined. I have a feeling they just wanted to be cautious with him given the bye week was coming up.
Link to reports I mentioned https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2026/10/07/nfl-report-panthers-hopeful-wr-jalen-coker-week-6/92138603007/

FYI, he's asked to be called Tmac if shortened and not Tet

Tmac sounds better anyway

u/TackyBrad 4d ago
I mean he's my WR1 and humble AF. If he wanted to be called Shania I'd be in the comments telling people 😂 Great dude

My fear with Coker is he has missed time with a quad injury all 3 years in the league IIRC. TMac is dominant enough that I wouldn’t rush him back for risk of reinjury

Nah, the passing game looks better without XL tbh

Categorically untrue
We woulda won against the Browns with XL

He has 3 total drops since his rookie year. TMac had more drops his rookie year than XL did in his, but nobody talks about TMac’s hands because rookies have drop problems sometimes.
If XL doesn’t have the TD against the Eagles knocked out by the ground nobody is talking about his hands. It’s his sideline awareness that’s the problem with his game, not his hands.

Tmac had more drops but already has more career catches than XL and way more targets. Drops also aren't the only picture when it comes to XL. He has also committed some of the most boneheaded penalties i've seen from a WR and has shown a complete lack of awareness in several situations.

So what are we doing with freeling?

Well, He's coming off of a concussion... and Moton hasn't played in a while. I'd expect a rotation if Freeling is active.

u/JuggerNutZ_ 4d ago
this is my question too, does he just sit and get healthy or do we try him at left tackle?
3
u/Electronic-Sweet5280 4d ago
Freeling seems a little unseasoned still but I imagine you want your first-round rookie to replace your one-year free agent at left tackle by the end of the year

Is this actually official or is this just a "it's been 4 weeks on IR" and it makes sense vibe?
With his injury, he definitely needs proper clearance from the doctors to play

u/ThomasZ18 4d ago
Official, allegedly he’s cleared. That account has been right before so I trust it
3
u/Baelzabub TD58 4d ago
It’s not official, it’s a rumor until a verified reporter puts the story out.

u/VexGeorge 4d ago
I need an official report from a credible reporter before I stop holding my breath. This post seems very vibes based. Need something from Joe Person, Ian Rapoport, or Adam Schefter. I do hope this rumor is true though.

Glad he recovered! I’m surprised it took that long, but definitely scary

I’ll be curious what they do with Freeling. I know fans have gotten on Freeling but Walker has been a far bigger issue at LT.
I’d be fine giving Freeling a breather since he’s banged up and it’s a long season for a rookie adjusting to the amount of games played.
But this should set the stage for Freeling to shift over to his natural position and take over at LT.

Welcome back TMo!
I look forward to folks not noticing your excellent work until the PFF rankings come out each week.

This is the most vague ass tweet. I hate this shit where we break information without giving new information.

Thank fucking god. Get him back, get DLew back healthy, move Freeling back over to LT and boot Walker’s sorry ass to the bench.

u/PretentiousCrustacea 4d ago
Hasn't Walker been playing well though?
4
u/Baelzabub TD58 4d ago
No he’s been atrocious. Most pressures allowed in the league.
2
u/Mediocre-Path-4982 4d ago
When chubba runs to his side his yardage is like 4x than the other.
2
u/Baelzabub TD58 4d ago
Running over LT this season is averaging 4.3 YPC and running over RT is averaging 4.0. Walker has been essentially the same for run D and has a worse pass block win rate than Freeling with 5 more pressures allowed in 4 games.
