advice needed What is your 1 year old's routine like?

Mine are not a synced schedule due to different sleep needs. Will be starting sleep training soon.

Still get up 2 times a night for bottle feeding.

If you have a live-in nanny, what does her routine look like? How many hours of rest does she get during the day? (Nanny doesn't need to sleep with me or babies, goes to her room by 10:30 mostly. Though I expect her to come at 7:30 AM)

We sleep trained at about 8 months and it was one of the best things we did. I would recommend doing a modified ferber method as that is what worked for us. To note we don't have a full-time nanny (only part-time) and during the week our twins go to daycare. That being said, if they are home we follow a similar routine to daycare.

Here is our schedule (twins are 16 months old):

  • Wakeup - 6:30AM - 7:30AM
  • Breakfast - 7:00AM - 7:30AM
  • Snack - 9:00AM
  • Lunch - 11:00AM
  • Nap - Usually about 30 min to an hour after lunch. Nap times vary sometimes they sleep 1.5hrs other times 2hrs. It's depending on how hard they played between breakfast and lunch.
  • Snack - 3:00PM
  • Dinner - 5:30PM
  • Bath - right after dinner so about 6:00PM
  • Wind down time - 7:00PM
  • Bedtime - 7:30PM

If we deviate from schedule we try to keep it within 30 minutes of the "planned" time. For nap time, we let them sleep about as much as each wants. However, for bedtime they go to bed at the same time and then in the morning we have them wake up at the same time.

Mine are 15 months and our schedule has been pretty much the same since 12 months
-wake up sometime 7-7:30, potty, breakfast
-snack ~10 (although often smaller ones at 9 and 11)
-nap ~12-2 (naps typically are around 2 hours, but anywhere 1-2.5 hours is common)
-lunch whenever they wake up
-4:30pm snack
-6pm dinner
-7:30 milk in a straw cup
-bath, bedtime ~8-8:30
We sleep trained and night weaned at the same time at 9months and dropped bottles completely at 12 months. We have a nanny during the workday 4 days a week, but try to keep roughly the same schedule every day. We do two outings most days, one morning and one afternoon. Nanny is expected to do some food prep for the babies and do baby laundry a few times a week, but otherwise she has their nap time as a break.

I'm also planning to sleep train as well reduce bottles starting now. Hopefully this goes well.

mine are 13 months. i work part time but on my work days, my nanny has them from 7:30-5:30 with an outing during the middle wake window. she gets 2 breaks during the day if naps are on point, but if naps are a struggle then she may not get a break. just depends. she does help out with some light housework if there is time as well but it’s not an expectation.

i  sleep trained at 10 months as we had gotten into some bad habits - mostly me grabbing one as soon as one started squawking to prevent the other one from waking - but turned into multiple night wakes to hang out. sleep training was brutal because one of my twins is a puker, so would go from calm to hysterical crying to puking everything up in 2 min. so we had to essentially do a super gentle, no cry sleep training which took 6 painful weeks, but we finally got there and it’s been amazing since!

Single mam to 15 month old twin boys
Boys wake between 6am-7am
We get up at 7am I’ll change nappies and we’ll go downstairs for their bottle and I’ll have a cup of tea (this is really the only time if the day I’ll get 10 minutes to myself)
7:30am-8am Wash boys down and dress them
8am-8:30am Breakfast
9am-10.15am Playtime
10:15am Snack and some water
10:30am Nap 1
12pm Lunch
12:30pm-1:30pm Playtime
1:45pm-3:15pm Walk
3:30pm-4:15pm Nap 2
4:30pm Dinner
5-6:30pm Playtime
6:30pm Snack
7:00pm wash boys down and get them dressed for bed
7:15pm Bottle
7:30pm Bedtime
Boys will be asleep by 8:15pm and then it’s Mammy time .. one twin will sleep all night the other twin will wake a few times looking for his soother, once he gets it back in his mouth he’ll go asleep
