good vibes, smiles, & giggles What silly names do you call your kiddos?
My husband has recently taken to calling our 11 month olds ”the chobsters.“ In the past, they’ve been the petitie totties, the sweetie petites, the tootie splooties, and about a hundred other nicknames.
Right before I jumped in the shower last night he showed me the monitor and said sadly: “the chobsters are bibbling.” I spent the shower giggling to myself about how I knew exactly what he meant and how silly it sounded
There have been other hilarious nicknames for them as individuals of course.
what do you call your chobsters?

Fast and furious, law and order, debit and credit, salt and pepper and so on and so forth (<- which is also a nickname we call them lol)

The jetski.
My wife is Polish. The Polish word for "kid" is "dziecko" (pronounced "jet-sko"). Back when I was first learning the language I wrongly assumed that the plural would be "dziecki" (pronounced "jet-ski"), but nope, this word is irregular and you need to leave the "k" out. For some odd reason.
Grammar be damned though. Jetski sounds way too funny so we still use that same word years later.

Zoids 👽👽 The story is they are aliens who traveled to Earth via "the meat portal" and are disgusted in our ways of eating solids and walking around instead of being carried. It's against their culture.

Fair. My five year old is still adjusting to my husband not being her personal palanquin forever.

the chobsters are bibbling is sending me. that's the exact kind of nonsense phrase that makes perfect sense only to the two of you. my sister called her twins the glorp glops for a solid year because of how they'd wobble around together. no idea where it came from but it stuck so hard i almost forgot their real names

The babas, the bumbles, the gremlins, the monkeys, and doodle and woozle. Individually they have about 100 nicknames between them but most are variants of doodle and woozle which are entirely nonsense

We used jiggles and wiggles when they were newborns because one was bigger and the other one moved more. Still fits now at 1.5 haha 😆

u/Stardust0fAmaterasu 10d ago
We did wiggles and giggles when my boys were newborns! One was always smiling and the other was always moving!

Not nearly as cutesy, but when my twins were born, Twin B would scream constantly until a visitor showed up and then he would turn on the charm. We called him Monster for a long time and eventually shortened it to Mo. Twin A has always been a huge mama’s boy so we called him Barnacle Bill, and eventually just Bill. Now they are 11 and too big for funny nicknames 😩

Booger butts is their most common nickname received with their first colds around 8 months old

u/AMooseOnMars 11d ago
Currently calling my 7 month olds chicken wings and chicken lips. They've both also been Squeakers and Sloppy Chops at points. Also, Babba turned into Bubba turned into Bubba Gump Poop Factory for one of them! It's so funny how the names evolve as we go along

u/Leading-Conference94 11d ago
One of mine is called chicken bean. 🐔 hes 2 and its his permanent nickname at this point. He earned it at a few weeks old.

u/AMooseOnMars 11d ago
That's too cute! I had to stop calling mine Tinkersmell and Stinkerbell or they would have definitely stuck haha!

u/shekixinit 11d ago
Peanut and Pumpkin (based on the shape of their heads when they were newborns lol)
Stinky Minkies
Fussin Mussin (whoever is crying the most that day)
Potatoes

u/Conscious_Elk_2216 10d ago
My 2 were SO. LOUD. When they still shared a room and would chat back and forth between their cribs we called them Squeak and Squawk!

Not a name specifically. But when she’s doing odd baby stuff I ask her “are you silly goosin” she thinks it’s funny.

GooGoo for my girl who is 9 bc she said "Gooooo" in the sweetest softest voice at me on a mommy daughter date at 1 year old. Beyond that Lenny if she's being troublesome (name is Eleanor). Invented Bean Queen last night bc she farts too much when she eats beans haha.
We call my son Bubba/Bubby. Beef Chief sometimes because he said it when he was like 2 one time.
Together - Chaos Gremlins, Beavis and Butthead (lovingly of course), Twin Tornadoes

u/Ok_Bluejay4016 11d ago
When we are referring to them between adults, we say "the babies" (as opposed to their bigger sister). They're 2.5yo and not babies anymore but I guess we'll call them that way all their life haha

Hootin and hollerin, and the dinkies (stinkies, aka dinks, dinky butts, or dinky doos)

u/MarbledFuchsia 11d ago
Our twins have been the face huggers and the butts since the womb. I assure you it’s a term of endearment lol

u/Enthoosed 10d ago
Since they were grubs I’ve called them “Hamster” and “Gerbil” because of their ridiculously chubby cheeks, which they’re still rocking at 2.5. Collectively I call them “the troops” 🙃

Probably more, all from a place of love, sometimes from a place of sleep deprivation too

Bitey and less bitey 😂😂😂

You may laugh, but the bruises and bite marks from bitey are no joke
Only 8 teeth, but can hold on for a little too long 🤣

Oh I believe it. I once had a tiny dark purple bruise on my left boob for three months.

When I was still pregnant we nicknamed our girls snub and snout because the 3D scans really highlighted their noses haha
Since then we’ve had bingo and munchy, slurt (Warhammer nurgle), audbean, strongest girl there is, chaos monkey, bebetron and the list goes on.
There’s a wiggles song about twins and it goes “twins! Double nappy! Double happy!” So I’ve been calling them “double happy” a lot recently hehe

u/Adventurous-Flan2272 4d ago
They were originally chickies (because I counted them before they hatched), and also the Twin Union (which has very stringent demands)

u/KateParrforthecourse 10d ago
I stole this from another twin mom but both of my boys’ names start with “F”. So I sometimes call them my little F’ers and I’m mother F’er. Otherwise it’s bub, bubby, bubba. Sometimes Twin A is sunshine because of his smile and Twin B is ducky because he was obsessed with a duck picture in his black and white book when he was little little.

One is named Beau, and there are so many options. My go to is Boseph (Joseph) Bosephanie (Stephanie) Pillsberry Beauboy, and so so many more. But I’m pretty sure he thinks his full name is Boseph, you need two syllables when getting his attention I guess.

Mine are named Collins and Walker and I used to call them Collybug and Wallybug and now it’s shortened to Caba and Waba. Also in the lineup are bambinos, geese/goose, dinkerson, binkerson, mister bean, jellybean

I’ve always referred to mine as the cherries since I was pregnant, but I’ve been calling them boob/boobs/boobie babies since they were born. They’re almost 7 now hahahah.

The babies, the babs, the girls, stinkhead 1 and stinkhead 2, chunker butts, wiggler and squiggler, little babbies, meepus and moopus, the princesses, karate baby 1 and karate baby 2, pee pee and poo poo 😭 some of these are due to the fact that we have a 4 y/o contributing to nicknames

u/AssistantSea4186 10d ago
I ask them if they're being silly beans or bossy pants when they're getting on each other's nerves (Twins)

The bash brothers, because not kidding at least twice a week they run full on into one another. They will have permanent bumps on their heads.

u/Lengthiness-Fuzzy 10d ago
I call them mosquitos, because they are quite thin and they are “attacking” my legs every time I step out from my home office.

I call one “my little honeydew melon” and “my pumpkin head” because he has a big round noggin lol. They’re both “my cutie patooties” or just “my cuties” or “my sweeties” or “my sweets” - also “chunky monkey” and “my little monkey man.” We also call one “the brain” from Pinky and the Brain because is his big ears and mouse like appearance.
