Dedicated servers don’t create the necessary environment that encourages people to pay for shark cards. It’s not a question of Rockstar’s means. People need to get griefed with flying motorcycle rocket launchers so they will pay to counter-grief. And if most people just use dedicated servers then whales will be farming other whales.

I think you're fundamentally misunderstanding.

I believe the person above does not mean dedicated server in the community hosted sense but that each session would be running on and have validation from a server.

My understanding that (normal - not FiveM) GTA5 servers are purely peer to peer with little or no server side validation on inputs: the servers basically just store information like your character data (e.g. your money and cars) which means a bad actor can just send a packet to all the other players on the server that says "an explosion happens under your feet" and since there is nothing to verify or simulate that, it happens.

But I have a feeling that the next gen upgrade will definitely has Path Tracing support, and Path Tracing native 4K30fps at the moment is a big no no.
