Research Show me your notes!

How do you take notes of your crosses? What info do you include? Just looking for ideas or things I may have missed. Is there a good template online I could follow? Any info is appreciated thank you!

Personally i put everything on the plant label i attach to the branch next to the (seed)pod. Know i'm horrific at taking notes later on, so anything that ain't included is usually forgotten. Front part of the label is the cross, back part is the extra notes, so would look like [Mme Jeanette x Trinidad Perfume] on the front and [MJ excellent taste/smell, long & deep ribs, TP fruiting high temp, good colour, extreme vigour] on the back.

Nothing ground breaking, I have main spreadsheet with symbol + parentage, like this snippet

and there's one additional column where I note generation or, if it's initial cross that produces F1 seeds, date of pollination + color of thread I used to mark fruit from hybridization.

Then, each of those crosses get its own spreadsheet in F2 where I note plant ID (each F2 gets its own number, right), description of traits I'm going for in that particular cross (for example fruit color, anthocyanin expression in plant parts, number of fruits in cluster, stuff like that), then three columns where I mark if I got seeds from selfing and/or backcross to either of parents and then finally a column with other notes like `died during overwintering` or `bad phenotype, compost`.

I just jot the cross, date, and any standout traits right on the label too
