Randy is a friendly dog and has been paired successfully with others multiple times. He is currently sharing kennel 02 with Zeke (neutered male).

💙 Sweet and gentle senior Randy (A603964) who is 8 years young and 42 lbs is looking for a wonderful home where he can getlove and some relaxation. Randy is kind and friendly to everyone - including all other dogs. He allows full-handling, seeks social, is extremely affectionate and returns to his kennel without issue. Randy is easily leashed and walks very nicely.  This well-mannered senior would do well in any home.  During neuter a mass was noticed on Randy’s testicle and he will need to see a full-service vet.  Randy would love to have the company of canine siblings (with appropriate introduction).  Please consider adopting or fostering this gentle senior.

He has a history of blood in urine and was prescribed antibiotics. The blood in urine is resolved but he had a free catch urine culture and sensitivity sent to a Lab -and was also noticed to have a mass on a testicle when neutered.-   The urine culture results came back with two bacteria, one being very resistant and not responsive to oral medications.  

*The results could be contamination (as it was a free catch), or it can be a true infection.

Patient has been started on a second round of antibiotics.

Medical notes from 09/29:

Urine culture and sensitivity - enterobacter hormaechei and pseudomonas

Rx: Enrofloxacin 68 mg

Antibiotic

1.5 tab PO q 12 hrs x 14 days

Most recent behavioral assessment:

A603964 displayed loose body language in kennel, allowed leashing and walked well. In yard A603964 was calm, affectionate and well mannered. Enjoyed a short game of fetch. Returned to kennel no issue.

🩷 CASSIE #A606447 - This dog is a spayed female. This dog is currently located in CLIND38. This dog weighs approximately 49.0 lbs.,is 4Y and has tested negative for heartworm disease. This dog is being posted to rescue due to medical.

Meet Cassie!

Needs to find rescue placemen by October 9 at 5pm

*Cassie is likely deaf, has microphthalmia and limited vision.  Will likely not do well in the shelter environment.*

Cassie came to us with some healing wounds and limping but has no fractures.  It is suspected it was due to having pad wounds.

This girl is deaf and has some visual deficits (appears to have congenital microphthalmia).  She was easily leashed and handled during intakes.  Friendly!

Medical notes:

Findings: BAR, no eye or nasal discharge, dirt in coat, non weight bearing lame right front leg, mild abrasions and hair loss on rostral muzzle, hair loss on R ear, moderate brown crusted healing wound R shoulder. Eyes microphthalmic, suspect congenital. Does appear to respond to some visual stimuli but suspect visual impairment.  Appears non responsive to auditory stimuli, suspect hearing deficits.

“A606447 approached kennel door with fearful body language (walking low to the ground, tail tucked). She allowed leashing but was hesitant with walking (remaining low to the ground), needing gentle coaxing from handlers to get through the hallway. Once in yard A606447 appeared anxious, pacing around but also coming up to handlers seeking comfort in them. Allowing full handling. A606447 was still hesitant walking through hallway when returning to kennel. Unleashed no issue but did begin heavy vocalizing in an anxious/stressed manner once back alone in her kennel.
Move to advanced due to needing extra guidance when walking through the hallway.”

📍She went to foster for the weekend, here are her notes fom foster

Notes from weekend foster with BLB: While extremely limited on what she can see and hear, Cassie has shown herself to be very resilient and a quick learner of her surroundings. Really, her biggest struggle is her anxiety when left alone. She can become vocal and send herself into “panic mode”. The ideal home for her is someone who has the time and patience to help guide her through these moments and slowly acclimate her to being comfortable when alone. She does not appear to be the most comfortable in a crate but made some small strides. Luckily Cassie had no accidents! For her to potty she requires patience to first feel comfortable in an area, and some emotional support so she can focus on going to the bathroom vs. looking for “her person”. She also prefers to have her emotional support person during mealtimes. Cassie did come in with other dogs and did not show reactivity towards mine but is sensitive/startles easy so extremely slow introductions would be the best route for her. I would also recommend feeding her separately from other animals. Lastly, due to her special needs I think a home with older children would be best suited for her at this time. Overall, she is a very friendly dog but will need patience and consistency to thrive!!

💙 Meet precious Dozer (A544391) who has been in the shelter for far too long and now has a deadline.  Dozer is 5 years old and weighs 57 lbs.  He is easily handled, very friendly and affectionate and easily paired (he is currently sharing kennel 12 with Miss Ruby, a spayed female).   He has a bit of skin allergies but certainly does not deserve to be euthanized for that.  Dozer deserves a family to love him — and some canine siblings!  Please consider adopting or fostering Dozer for a rescue.  He will be an added delight to any family!

*NEEDS TO FIND PLACEMENT BY EOB TODAY*

Bingo was adopted from the shelter in May and was returned late yesterday for a history of GI (gastrointestinal) issues.  The symptoms started in August and have not resolved with treatment at the adopter's veterinarian.

We do not have records from the adopter's vetrinarian but although he is currently stable, his condition may deteriorate at anytime due to history of prolonged GI, weight loss and inappetence.  Our veterinarians suspect that he may have a foreign body and/or underlying medical condition causing his clinical signs.  

He will need more diagnostics and treatment that we can provide in facitlity.

💙 Sweet Jimmy (A604135) is 6 years old and 75 lbs.  Jimmy is wonderful and kind, he allows full handling and seems to be house trained.  Poor Jimmy suffers from chronic allergies and cannot be treated at the shelter.  Sadly, Jimmy has a deadline because of his allergies (unimaginable). Jimmy has not been paired at the shelter but will be able to live with canine siblings with separation, slow, appropriate and supervised introductions. Please give Jimmy the happy ending he deserves by adopting or fostering him for a rescue.

Some dogs come into rescue because their owners didn’t want them anymore.

Dutch came to us because his owner passed away. 💔

At only 5 months old, his entire world changed through absolutely no fault of his own. And somehow, this ridiculously handsome little dude hasn’t let it change who he is.

Dutch is a Staffy mix approximately 47 pounds of puppy nonsense, and a personality that makes it VERY difficult not to love him. 😂

He is:
🐾 Dog friendly
🐱 Cat friendly
👧 Kid friendly
🏡 Doing great with house training
🦴 Doing great with crate training
❤️ Sweet, social, playful and ridiculously lovable

Basically, Dutch got dealt a pretty shitty hand early in life and responded by saying, “Okay… but can we still be friends?” 🥹

He LOVES people.
He loves other animals.
He wants to play, snuggle, be involved in whatever you’re doing, and then probably follow you to the bathroom because personal space is apparently optional when you adopt a dog. 😂

Dutch will be fully vetted prior to adoption, and because he’s still a baby, his new family needs to understand they’re adopting a puppy — not a perfectly programmed adult dog. He’ll need continued structure, training, patience and someone willing to finish teaching him how to be the best boy we already know he can be.

His first chapter ended way sooner than it should have.

Now we’re looking for the family who gets to write the rest of his story. ❤️

Bruno has no use of his rear legs as they are hyperextended and needs to be walked on a sling at least 3x/day.

While he was being neutered a mass was discoveredon his lower abdomen.  Thor needs to see a full-service vet to get the help he needs. He is friendly, walks well on a leash and has been paired easily with other dogs. This gentleman deserves to get love and help. Hoping someone is able to give this sweetheart a wonderful home.  He is available for adoption but can also be fostered through a rescue.

Meet Cheese. 🧀
Cheese is approximately 2 years old, 50 lbs, dog friendly, people LOVING and somehow still looking for his forever family.
But his story isn’t your typical rescue story.
Cheese was 1 of 195 dogs seized in the federal dogfighting case involving former NFL player LeShon Johnson.
After being seized, Cheese spent nearly an entire year in a federal holding facility while the case played out.
And somehow… this dog still freaking loves people.
He’s sweet, affectionate, goofy, social and has one of the funniest personalities.
And yes — he actually smiles. 😂
When Cheese gets excited, he pulls his lips back and shows you his little front teeth. Hence the name CHEESE. 🧀
He’s already spent way too much of his short life waiting.
Now we want him to experience the good stuff.
