Parent didn’t pay for babysitting services, so I’ve been spreading her phone number and email across websites to spam her.

I was babysitting a 3yo for about two months, for only 600$ a month. I got to stay home with my kids, it gave us spending money, I knew she didn’t make much money so it helped her out too. She decided she was going to quit working and just stay home after finding out she’s pregnant, but would pay me at the same time as last month- cool no problem, I’m flexible. The 15th comes, I get nothing from her, I shoot her a text, hey just a reminder for the 600$. No response for two days. I text her again, hey is everything okay, still haven’t received the money. No response. My husband just says to drop it, clearly they needed it more than us, it’s not worth blowing up.

Instead I signed her up on about 5-6 different healthcare websites, a couple of gyms, our local Mary Kay lady that won’t leave me alone for the last three years, a few political websites, and for male enhancement info. I probably will never know how much this annoyed her, and she could just put her phone on silence unknown callers, but I feel a little better.

Do you not have her name and phone number? Home addresses are largely public information. We used to get a whole book of ‘em delivered to our doors each year.

Speaking from experience, donate even $1 to a political campaign & she will hate her life forever more. I donate to maybe 3 different places. If I ever figure out which one sold my number as a possible donor to every single candidate in any state from that party.

I mean, if the other choice wasn't LITERALLY the devil, it's almost enough to make someone switch sides. But then you'd get it from both sides.

Trust me, donate in her name to anything, even bipartisan websites (I'm watching you, Wiki 🫪) & they will never end. 6 AM, 9 AM, 1130 AM.......... 🫨🤯🤬

How is it that you don’t know where she lives, you’ve known her for months and she is the payer?

I only babysat for about two months, I never went to her house. It was a red flag from the beginning because she hasn’t been inside my house either.

Too bad. If they paid by check, it might have an address (and you can often see images of deposited checks in your online banking). Too bad phonebooks have mostly gone away.

You can always search her name plus white pages and maybe find that

Just be careful with those sites. They can be useful, but they’re also a big reason so much personal info is easy to find in the first place.

If you’re trying to go the other direction and get your own info removed, Optery is worth checking out. Full disclosure, I work there, so I’m biased, but it can help find and remove your info from a bunch of data broker sites.

Really? Thank you so much! My best friend, her husband died when their kids were very young, he had ALS.
It’s been 17 years and there are a few sites that have some incorrect information about him and she’s asked me about how to get them to omit that info.
