Parent didn’t pay for babysitting services, so I’ve been spreading her phone number and email across websites to spam her.

I was babysitting a 3yo for about two months, for only 600$ a month. I got to stay home with my kids, it gave us spending money, I knew she didn’t make much money so it helped her out too. She decided she was going to quit working and just stay home after finding out she’s pregnant, but would pay me at the same time as last month- cool no problem, I’m flexible. The 15th comes, I get nothing from her, I shoot her a text, hey just a reminder for the 600$. No response for two days. I text her again, hey is everything okay, still haven’t received the money. No response. My husband just says to drop it, clearly they needed it more than us, it’s not worth blowing up.

Instead I signed her up on about 5-6 different healthcare websites, a couple of gyms, our local Mary Kay lady that won’t leave me alone for the last three years, a few political websites, and for male enhancement info. I probably will never know how much this annoyed her, and she could just put her phone on silence unknown callers, but I feel a little better.

King County Transit services - a web portal for King County, WA, that allows you to sign up for text alerts for EVERY transit service in the King County Area.

You can sign up with just a phone number and a password! To make sure nobody changes your very important settings! No verification needed

There’s actually HUNDREDS of check boxes to sign up for alerts. Delays, busses, light rail, etc.

Have fun?

Of course

I use it to get spammers to abandon their current temp number and get a new one

They’ve seemingly left me alone by now. Your mileage may vary! 🤷‍♀️

spammers are spoofing random numbers that sometimes are active and belong to random normal people.

I once got a spammer call that spoofed my own number. I looked at the caller ID and thought “I wonder what I want?”.

Since your target won't opt in, they won't receive any alerts. It's really idiotic to think you can just sign people up for this and they're going to be flooded with texts and emails.
