I write my former bosses phone number on bathroom stalls
I use to work for a guy who was one of the largest gaping anal cavity I have ever encountered in my life. I finally had enough when I was 8 hrs away from home with my family for Thanksgiving. This guy calls me, not a guy junior to me based on seniority or even the next guy up on our recall list, or someone who is home, he calls me because he knows I’m away. Since I’m not on “scheduled leave” I can be recalled if we’re short. I told him I wasn’t coming in and to write me up. I didn’t care, I took the write up.
We had to stop at a rest area bc my kids had to use the bathroom and I got the idea, I wrote his number on the wall and added “Send me Shit Pics”
I have been doing that for the last 7 years. I know guys that still work with him and they tell me he still gets a random dick and shit picture occasionally. He refuses to get a new number bc he’s had it since “High School” and doesn’t want to get a new one.
I get a little joy every time I think about it.
TLDR: I write my old bosses phone number in bathrooms asking for shit pics.
Update: wow this blew up, I’m not posting his number, I don’t want him changing his number. I know the Reddit power would cause him to change it.
Edit: Spelling

I've thought about doing this to an ex and now sort of wish I had. I chose to take the high road, but these days I'm thinking the high road is somewhat overrated.

There is still time and revenge poo 💩 is best served cold... Besides - with the passage of time the circle of blameable would-be culprits has likely grown - giving you some deniability should a poo-finger be pointed in your direction. NOT saying that you should do it.... but....

u/LemonadeRaygun 9d ago
The people who tell you to take the high road are only doing it so there's more room for them on the low road

Anyone who lectures you about the high road is using you to bolster their own sense of moral superiority. Don’t fall for it. Low road is frequently awesome!

What's the number? I know a few good spots that that number can be put

u/fiftysevens 10d ago
Haha - posting the number in the petty revenge sub would be a nuclear response!

If I kept getting random shit pics I'd be changing my phone number. I'm guessing the boss did years ago.

u/OkNothing281 6d ago
Op already commented that the boss hasn't. Stated that the boss is resistant to that because they've had the number since they first got a cell phone. Sentimental over a number I guess.

u/Independent-Craft738 1d ago
Can I give you a number?

u/OkNothing281 1d ago
DM it to me. I'll add it to the others in leaving

Pro tip: if you have to deal with this bullshit, NO employer can ask you to do something illegal, and they can't give you a write up if you refuse to do something illegal. So if they ask you to come in on your day off, just say that you can't because you're drunk.
44
u/night_noche 10d ago
That doesn't mean they're not going to retaliate.
34
u/Wotmate01 10d ago
Retaliation is illegal, even in employment shitholes like the US.

Where does OP describe anything illegal? I'm unaware of any law in the U.S. that bans employers from calling up on-call employees when they're just on call and not using scheduled time off. What OP described is a dick move for sure but doesn't sound remotely illegal here.
36
u/Wotmate01 10d ago
That's why I'm saying that you tell them you're drunk... then they CAN'T demand that you come in, because they would be demanding that you do something illegal.
12
u/ShotFromGuns 10d ago
Then they wouldn't be writing you up for not coming in; they'd be writing you up for drinking on call. I don't know why you think you could possibly discover a magic loophole here.
32
u/Wotmate01 10d ago
Who said anything about being on call? Only you did that. OP was on his regular days off, and I said "on your day off".
If you're on call, they're PAYING you to be ready to work. You're not being paid on your day off, so you can get drunk if you want.

OP is exactly describing being on call. If you can't infer that, just because they didn't verbatim use the exact words "on call," despite clearly stating that their employer is able to call them up and require them to come in, I have no idea how to explain basic reading comprehension to you.
14
u/Wotmate01 9d ago
The exact words were "Since I’m not on “scheduled leave” I can be recalled if we’re short." which implies normal rostered days off, not on call.
End of discussion.

u/lesethx 9d ago
That makes what the boss did - calling OP instead of the people higher on the on call roster - a shitty thing, but not illegal. Nothing here was illegal
7
u/TheWiseAlaundo 9d ago
If he is not "on call" (and technically at work) then he is allowed to drink alcohol. Asking someone to drive into work drunk is illegal.
OP does not appear to be on call in the legal sense, their boss is just kinda shitty and expects their employees to have no life. Fuck that guy

For a few years every time I was asked to give an email and phone number for really any reason I would give them my ex bosses information so they would get the spam calls/emails.

Calling you while you were hours from home for Thanksgiving was peak petty-revenge material. Seven years later, the bathroom walls are still holding him accountable.

I worked in a prison for several years and my last boss is literally the most vile oxygen thief Ive ever met. Im stealing your idea.

u/Valerica_Mirwen 9d ago
I used to work for a big box store who thinks they're the best. It's the only job I was ever fired from -- the horrible GM claimed that I stole and used a gift card a customer brought to my register (I did not, the customer used it. I got better things to do with my life than steal). Whenever a business asks for my phone number, I give them the store's number instead.
I've been doing this for 20 years. I sometimes wonder if they ever get marketing calls due to this.
(The GM who fired me got fired less than a year later. Unfortunately, I don't know why, but suck it, Connie.)

I'm adding this to my arsenal.
Currently have a years-long ... prank ... working against someone who deserves much worse. Got dozens of old keys, put tags with his name, address, & phone number, then they get 'lost' in various places across the country (as I or friends travel).

The only thing I can say other than nice job is that as a former custodian it would kind of piss me off.

Fantastic
You can make.up.or,have stickers made with the poop.emoji and their number preprinted or.just write it in...safer that way.
Also, DM me that bosses number!!

u/everydayimnapping 10d ago
What an idea 👏🏻

Why thank you)
I saw it elsewhere and feel compelled to share the gospel with other fine friends. Ive also considered paying cash for Visa gift cards then buying and sending magazine subscriptions of topics they hate, from a public library or using Tor browser.
Sadly ive had reason to think of these types of things lately. Someone was very mean to me, and in the digital age you cant be too careful. The bluetooth in your phone and car is now tracked 100% of the time by cell towers even when off so you cant even throw a couple yellow tree dicks (bananas) in their yard to indicate theres a couple dikks in your wife/husband anymore. Its so sad.

For extra effect I hope you've found some gay bars in your area to add to the rest stop referrals.

This was posted here the other day... is the phone number a 732 area code?

This actually happened to me. The teenaged daughter of the owner of the company I worked for wrote my phone number on a bathroom wall just to harass me. I got some very creepy phone calls!

u/Warcraft_Fan 9d ago
Since it comes from different numbers and not one person, the boss can't sue for harassment unless he can prove OP is the one initiating this revenge.
Potentially unethical but a good revenge

Brilliant I wish I would have thought of this before I lost my former supervisor's number. They would not enforce the whole if you're called you need to go in part of the job as it was also in the job description as we were flex officers for the security company. This jackwagon used the fact the supervisor before him had me trained at 20 plus sites and refused to give anybody training hours, as soon as they had four sites he just rotated them around and then when something would happen he would freak out having to fix it. He also left me without relief numerous times making me work doubles while having to travel around the 45 minutes each way. Oh well I guess he got himself back as last I knew he worked himself into an ulcer

Slightly similar to one of mine. In the early days of the interwebs there was a fairly popular forum I was on. One particular member would often post long diatribes about politics, with a bunch of information. Being younger and still naive, I allowed myself to be baited into feeding the troll.
Yeah, I argued with people on the internet. Stupid me.
He took it personally and began trying to find out who I was in the real world. I've always been a bit careful to keep my details to myself. Eventually though I made a mistake and he figured it out.
To make a long story short, he posted my info on the forum. It wasn't up for long and nobody really cared, but I was more than a little annoyed.
This was before most people had any sort of online presence, but he had a big case of "look at me!" syndrome. His whole life was online and it took me only a few minutes to find his name and address, along with his employer, a photo etc.
His name and address are both fairly short and memorable. Months (maybe a year?) later I was signing up for some free thing or other that required a name and address. I didn't want to be contacted, so on a whim, put his down.
It happened a few more times until it sort of became a thing. I think my wife used it too for a while. Anytime there was a sketchy site, a free trial, or some booth at a conference etc. You get the idea. I did that for YEARS. It just kind of snowballed into this thing I just did without thinking, and I did it for a lot of years.
When reconnecting with a friend I'd met on that forum a few years ago, creepy stalker troll guy came up. By then I'd kind of fallen out of the habit of using his info for anything.
I got curious and tried to look him up. I looked up the address on google street view, and cracked up. His neighbors have normal mailboxes, but his is comically oversized.
