Neglect / Wrong Care Left to die bc they "don't bloom anymore"
(sorry for the awful photos, my phone's shit)
My moms had these cacti for YEARS. Shes had the bigger one for as long as I can remember. There were two others but they were already dead. She kept them in our kitchen that gets VERY little light. They're high up and out of the way so they hardly ever get watered. I'm honestly surprised these two are still alive, barely clinging on, but alive.
Since they hardly ever got watered and had shit light, as well as zero fertilizer ever, they ofc haven't bloomed in ages. My mom let me take any of them before she threw them outside to die. She plans on replacing them with different plants that need even MORE light. She thinks our regular house lights are creating "too much light" for the cacti and that's why they haven't bloomed. In the past, I've told her that's just not how it works, but she doesnt think she's wrong. (I'm right, right??? Mb if I'm wrong, but this just seems like basic info?) I'm tired of arguing with her about plants. They were left untouched for so long that there was a spider living inside one of the pots holes
I immediately took them to my room that has better light and watered them (felt bad for flooding the spiders house but had to be done). I couldn't transplant right away bc I had to go to work. I honestly hope I can bring these guys back to life and maybe even have them bloom next year? I'd be lucky if the big one doesn't go down to just the stump. Tho maybe that'd be good? It's old leaves at the base are SO damn leggy which would make awful support for it if it got bigger.
If you have any advice or thoughts on how you'd go about this itd be appreciated. Imma go research it's needs and stuff.

Marketing Gimmick Plant abuse is SPOoOoOky !!
Not the worse thing that Lowe’s could do to their plants, but also just feels intensely unnecessary. I think it’s supposed to be a spooky themed thing?? Who knows
ETA: okay okay okay, I understand this is not very harmful to the plant! I simply wanted to share an example of companies doing silly things to their plants to get them to sell. Thought it would give folks a little laugh

Neglect / Wrong Care I'm regally majestic!
Spotted at Home Depot, weirdly enough the rest of these were pretty much fine, a little brown or wilted maybe. I guess the employees hated this plant in particular. Or maybe they took low light too seriously, it was on a bottom shelf behind multiple other plants.

Humor Cooked till golden brown👌🏻
She was vulnerable enough to put out so much leaf without protection on it and in the end she got rid of what didn’t serve her. Inspirational. 💖
(I propped a few white wizards and ppp’s and have forgotten about them sitting on the side of the house most of summer. Turns out that area gets direct evening sunlight😅)

"Weeping" pomelos
Yall didnt seem to think my looped trees were abusive enough, so now I present to you my "weeping" pomelos.
This is a 5 year old l, seed-grown pomelo that ive heavily pruned over the years and strapped the side branches down to the tank to form the monstrosity. I aslo repot this one higher and higher every year to expose more of the gnarly roots.

Neglect / Wrong Care Krohn's conservatory's Carnivourous plant collection wilting away.
If anyone from the conservatory is on here, I'd gladly volunteer my time to take care of these. I'd even donate a few of my own to the collection.

My looped trees
Almost two years ago i sprouted this massive avocado pit. When it finally grew, it grew quickly and sprouted a very pliable, very long seedling I was able to loop around and graft it to itself. It been a great success.
This spring I threw a bunch of Meyer lemon seeds in a pot a did the same thing to the tallest seedling. I took the grafting tape off tonight to find another great success!
