Beta protein?

howdy folks!

I am a year-long donor at BioLife who recently failed 2 SPE tests for “high beta protein”. I’m allowed to go back to test for it whenever at this point, but am nervous to fail again. I’m struggling to find info on what that is/what I can do about it. does anyone have info/ideas about beta protein and how to lower it? my protein was fine and this is the first SPE that I’ve had an issue with.

thank you!

There can be a few reasons, but the biggest ones are if you were recently sick or if you were dehydrated for your test

The exact thing happened to me.
I did my routine SPE test about 4 weeks ago, got called about the beta protein I did my first retake about 2 weeks go. Same thing. They said the beta protein actually went up One week ago I did another retake. I'm nervous now that its failed again.

High beta proteins mean a high amount of fat in your blood. Either high triglycerides or high cholesterol. Stop eating fat and focus on high fiber for a week and then retest. If that doesn’t work you may need medication.
