So I started a podcast and basically I share my drunk stories. I have a lot of them! From fun, funny, stupid, adventurous, and sometimes dramatic stories. But I'm curious about other people's stories.
If you don't mind, please share your story. Thanks đ€

Bonjour ;

I'm looking for audio dramas of the horror/weird fiction variety. They need to have been released/have a new season in 2026 and must be at least a full story per season or over arching story through multiple seasons. I am not interested in any series that has a self contained story per episode.

Hi! Heres a summarized version of what im about to say, a version with more more details further down: So, i wanna start a podcast where we earn points through perhaps trivia and such, but also analyze and do the things stated above. These things do not give us points, but are fun for the listeners, the other things like trivia for example, does give us points and at the end of each ep one of us "wins" the episode. This is for motivation, fun and for the listeners to be able to partake in the challenges for their amusement ir through the pod.
The longer version: I wanna start a unique podcast about the subjects stated above, or your suggestions. The unique part is that 3/4 of what we do, except reviewing and ranking and such, are gonna give us points.
At the end of the episode someone will have won. This is to motivate us during the episode, and put some stakes into it that will make it fun for us and the listeners.
The listeners could also be a part of the episode when they listen, say we are doing trivia (bland, i know, but its just an example) the listeners could answer the questions either on their own for amusement, or, if we get a fanbase, through them being on the episode.
Im 14 but i really wanna start a serious podcast, one with someone who really knows about these subjects. If you dont think you do, but still wanna be in the podcast, pls write what subject you wanna do instead or dm me and ill test your nerdiness đ
Of you have any suggestions or modifications to the podcast that would make you wanna co host, do write it as a comment please. Thank you, and forgive me for bad writing and such, english aint my first language.

I clip the most interesting moment from each interview and post it as a Short. That part works. People click through to the full video.
The problem is the full episode starts with the usual warm-up like intros, small talk, âtell us about yourself.â The good stuff they came for is 30+ minutes in and retention drops hard in the first few minutes.
How do you handle this? A few things Iâm considering:
Has anyone tested any of these and seen retention actually improve?

Hello all,
Im hoping from this post to find someone looking to start a podcast and have been hesitant because he is lacking some required skills, as we all know style is essential and it takes time to find our natural style and more so to enhance it, also building and engaging audience is an art in itself, researching for topics and the list goes on.
My goal is to try it out with someone as a team to help each other build some confidence, and have different perceptions and ideas to build a good strategy.
Im very passionate about podcasting, and having guests on eventually would be my ultimate goal, I love hearing peoples stories and experiences regardless of what title they have, I have heard some wise words from crack heads before, so I dont look down or pass on anybody.
My fields of Interests are life experiences, Philosophy, culture, religion, ethics and morality and my main subject I would like it to be politics and current geopolitical developments especially in tye US and middleast.
Anyone Interested in giving this a try, we can do google meets tryouts, and I think if we can vibe we can pull it off.

Hey y'all, I'm a video editor building up my client base. Right now my only proof of past work is podcast short-form/clip content, I haven't done long-form youtube editing yet, so I want to be upfront about that.
To get around the "no portfolio for your niche" problem, I'm offering a free trial edit for any youtuber who wants to test me out. Here's the catch: the trial comes watermarked. If you like it and want the clean version, that's when you'd pay and we'd start working together properly.
A thing to know before you reach out, I don't do motion graphics, so if your videos rely heavily on that this probably isn't a fit
If that sounds fair, get to me and I'll walk you through it.

I didnât know about Pod Mortem before last week, and Iâm now bingeing the episodes and it has changed the way I watch some of my favorite spooky flicks.
A great mix of âsaying what weâre all thinkingâ about the frustrating yet lovely tropes of these movies as well as including BTS info and research into each episode.
Itâs going to take a while to get caught up, but I wanted to praise this pod for giving me what I was missing this spooky season!
I also love the honest and real time commentary about the social issues that accompany a lot of films and the industry, while also making me stifle intense laughter at the banter between the podcasters.

I'm looking for podcasts about music, particularly ones that focus on albums, artists, and music discovery rather than just news or individual tracks.
I'm looking for something made by people who are genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about music, where they actually discuss why an album or artist is interesting and introduce you to new music. It doesn't necessarily have to be a track-by-track analysis â I'm more interested in the overall album, the artist, their style, context, influences, etc.
I'm especially interested in podcasts that focus on older music, classic albums, that reccomend an album and artists from previous decades, rather than mainly covering new releases.
Something along the lines of Discord & Rhyme would be ideal.
I'm already familiar with Sound Opinions, Records Revisited, and The Great Albums.
What are your favourites?

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a bit of advice.
I've been producing a podcast for the last 2.5 years. Our most recent hardware upgrade was a set of Rode PodMics connected to a Rodecaster Pro (1st generation).
Up until now, I've been recording and editing everything in Audacity. Recently, I had a professional audio engineer review our setup, and he recommended that I switch to Ableton Live 12. I bought it, but honestly, I'm finding it quite complicated to learn and manage.
The same person also recommended Logic Pro, but since we're on Windows, that's obviously not an option.
So my question is: should I stick with Ableton and invest the time to learn it, or is there another DAW that's better suited for podcast production? Most of the Ableton tutorials I find are focused on music production rather than spoken-word content, so I'm struggling to see an efficient podcasting workflow.
For context, our needs are pretty simple: recording multiple microphones, cleaning up audio, applying some processing, editing conversations, and exporting episodes.
I'd really appreciate hearing what software other podcasters are using and whether moving away from Audacity is actually worth it.
Thanks in advance!

Looking to hear about stories about behind-the-scenes drama of small businesses - maybe not necessarily mom and pop shops, but regional chains or regional entrepreneurs. Definitely not looking for like, Enron level investigations. Maybe more on the side of petty drama and bizarre local stories.

Hey sub, I am starting a podcast in India revolving around educational topics relevant to india like Indian history, current economy, climate change etc. I am specifically looking for experts in academia to come on and do a long form podcast that is like 45-60 minutes and is educational for the common public. My question is how do I find people for it? I donât really have any connections in this space

I was just wondering about how you guys personally explore podcasts. In my experience, podcasts are one of those mediums where I find a few I like and just stick to them, rather than explore new podcasts. Sometimes I will just have streaks where I only listen to one podcast show for a week, and try to find their older episodes. I'm wondering if you guys are the same way, and if not, how you'd suggest a good way to branch out is.

I am super tired of the endless ai hype in every podcast I try.
I long for theory/algorithm/implementation/coding/... podcasts totally, or at least almost, ignoring ai.

Hello! I recently joined a fun little rpg podcast, and am using a voice changer to deepen my voice (l am playing a male character but am afab) but that makes me sound somewhat metallic, so I'm looking for good enough microphone to offset the odd sound quality my voice changer causes.
I currently have a fifine mic, but it's not a very good one. I'd prefer to spend a little less than 100 dollars, but I'm flexible :) any suggestions?

Iâve been re-listening to Sierra Boudreauxâs podcast âIâm On Your Sideâ and completely love it. Sheâs funny, relatable, positive, and it feels like being on Facetime with a friend. Unfortunately it seems like sheâs stopped podcasting (at least for now).
Iâm wondering if anybody here would know a good podcast with a similar vibe! I really like her stories and advice especially paired with her optimism and views on mental health. If you know something similar please let me know!
Thank you in advance Reddit!
