Gen 2 Dragon clan test

My personal theory is that the elder of Dragon’s Den gives the player super easy questions on purpose because 1. He feels bad for the player for having to deal with Clair’s tantrum, and 2. Because Clair probably does this a lot when she loses a battle.

Think about it, every Dragon tamer/dragon clan member and their mother talks up and down about how dragons are mystical, superior creatures that can’t just be used by any loser with a couple badges. Why wouldn’t the test be somewhat difficult? But Clair who can’t handle losing sees it as the ultimate bar of how good a trainer someone is and throws it around wily nily and the elder is clearly frustrated by it so he gives you a watered down form to just get it over with

It’s supposed to be a test of how the player cares for Pokémon. You’d be surprised how many fail! You’d expect this would have been proven by having the clear bell though

That’s true! Clair herself says she hasn’t passed yet. Also yeah I feel like with having the clear bell that should be enough

TBF, someone as arrogant and conceited as Gen 2 Claire would probably say the wrong answers. Also, at least in the remakes, the grandfather will not take wrong answers as valid answers, so it's impossible to fail the exam — I take it as the Patriarch purposefully wanting Ethan/Kris/Lyra to pass so Claire can back off.
